Staying Alive is way too powerful

Based on...?

The Evasive style, which it only kicks in if used to an extreme, is not considered a great style, and its main bonus is to Vision, with a very small Agility bonus: Nothing to Speed. It allows what GG intended it to, a Reggie Bush style of dancing and moving horizontally to find a hole. The Agility bonus helps him dance a bit, and the Vision bonus helps him actually find the right hole.

I'm sorry to ask this as I know its a suggestion thread, but what exactly does the power running style do? I've never seen these explained in terms of which stats they give bonuses too and my perception of the evasive style was incorrect.

To add to that.

Power running style is usually associated with Jerome Bettis. He'll hit the hole if it's there, but he's not going to make a whole lot of fancy moves. If there is a defender in his way, and no wide open path around him, lower that shoulder and take him down with you.

This evening, I will run through and add anything I missed.

Truck - This player is a human bowling ball. When breaking a tackle, he recieves a 5% decrease to the speed and balance penalty caused by the missed tackle, per level.

This is based off of recent comments from Bort saying that a missed tackle slows an HB and impacts his balance negatively. I figure some guys who are trucking (picture a full speed Jerome Bettis) just have missed tackles bounce off of them without really slowing them down.

For LBs:

Alligator Arms - This LB is a major presence in the middle of the field. This skill makes WR worried about getting drilled with a monster hit going over the middle. This LBs presence increases the chance of a dropped pass due to the WR not extending his arms in order to protect himself from the hit. The percentage may also be increased by a multiplier if this LB has previously laid down a Monster Hit on a WR.

Basically, the skill provides a base to the chances of an incomplete pass and can be increased with more points put into the skill. For every Monster Hit put on a WR in the game by this LB, the likeliness of a dropped pass increases even more.

Anticipate snap count-For defensive players, when blitzing, increase sack chance by 3%, but increase offsides chance by 3%. Each level would lower offsides chance and increase sack shance. Obviously this could only be implamented once penalties are.

A idea I had which I haven't checked everywhere to see if its been posted is how about Mr Chemistry. A player who is such a good teammate it boosts team chemistry, to help when teams have chemistry hits due to signings.

Sadist- Player has a +2% chance per level to gain morale when doing an action that lowers an opponent's morale (the gain is equivalent to the loss to the opponent).

Dirty Tackler- The player is twice as likely to cause a forced fumble while tackling. Whenever the player causes a forced fumble, he has a 75% chance to be called for unneccessary roughness/face mask during that play [which would cause the ball to stay with the offense]. For every level in Dirty Tackler, the player has a -3% chance to cause a penalty when forcing a fumble [This makes it a 72% chance of causing a penalty at level 1, and a 30% chance of causing a penalty at max level].

Sadist works for me.

Dirty Tackler would cause way too many fumbles at, at high levels, too little consequence. If you started with 80% and subtracted 2% per level, so the minimum would be 50%, it could work for me.

4th Quarter Comeback for QB's

This increases chances of QB's to step it up late in the game and throw accurate passes and allow his team to get back into the game. Kinda like a Brett Favre thing (like, 5 years ago Brett Favre)

(Also posted this in the K/P VA suggestion thread...)

Blanda Descendant: This player is more than just a kicker. Each level of Blanda Descendant gives kickers a +3% bonus to all attributes except kicking and confidence.

(Named after George Blanda, the famous kicker and quarterback of the golden age. Such a VA might encourage owners to use kickers in roles outside of just kicking, and might encourage kickers to use more experimental builds so their kickers might do things other than kick. It would certainly take the emphasis of kickers to just add points to kicking and confidence, and would reward those who have already added to attributes like agility, stamina, and speed to make their kickers more complete players.)

i got some for the DE position, didnt read all of the OP so these might copy but here we go

heres some ideas i came up with for DEs

1) Revenge- when your DE is pancaked, the next play he is angry and has a X% chance to get around the OT quicker
2) Pure focus- DE is always concentrating on the QB, right when that ball moves the DE was already up and moving. +x% chance to work
3)quick hands- the DE will use his hands all over the OT/other blockers to push or swim move them away. X% chance of working

you like them?

Nothing for DE's should exist until there are pass blocking VA's that are better.

And pancaking should also always be very bad for the DE, a consequence of low Strength: It should never help him.

Actually, this is a good reworking of Big Heart. Just let it kick in anytime the team is 14+ points down, but it doesn't go away until the team ties the game or gets a lead.

Very cool. Make it available to punters too (meaning it's +3% bonus would be to all but kicking, punting, and confidence).
