And thank God for that! I've been in discussions with *selfish* owners about this very issue for a half dozen seasons or more. Almost every single one of you have this lame ass two-step that consists of:

1) "The money doesn't give me any real advantage..."
and
2) "Hell no I won't give it up!".

I'm so glad that Bort and company saw thru that nonsense and finally took action. Should it have been done sooner? Absolutely? Will it need to be tweaked once the smoke clears from the first round of changes? Probably. But getting "input from owners" would have ensured that this nonsense of build-gut-then-drop would have continued as an effective work-around with regard to in-game finances.

Sorry can't sugar coat this one. Many owners feel the same way as I do.Beleive me when I say MANY.
If the goal is to remove long term owners and replace them with newer owners, then job well done.
Thats pretty much whats gonna happen.

And believe me when I say many like the change. So what?

You will never make everyone happy with change...never. In the end of the day the owners of a business have to make a decision they feel is best..and then see how it plays out.

We simply have to do what we can to improve the current game as best we possibly can.

A restart is very feasible

Flex is usable on both
You can play on both

Current server GLB Beta 1
No new rolls allowed by end of this season
League begin contracting based of number of players and continue to do so until mass retirements
Dont bring in flash replays here
no more sim changes *(will encourage migration)

Beta Server 2
Archetype Server
New rolls and teams begin here Season 1using new replays, rules, builds.
Sim updates and fundamental system changes happen here moving forward

We're definitely not losing all of our steady veteran members and owners. For every one person who is complaining about this change, there are five who are in favor of it. The loudest people will always be the ones who don't like something.

that shouldn't be what concerns you

what should concern you is those that don't bother to voice their opinion and just walk away or stop buying flex

judging all of GLB by what is on the message board either way (for or against) is a big mistake

You are discounting support messages they probably get. And other behind the scenes info/data they have.

It's not a terrible idea but more something that should be looked at when we come out of Beta (which believe it or not is going to happen sometime, some of these changes are geared with that in mind).

I can see all the teams that go into the red due to this.Like I said I like change when its the right change.
Get rid of the $$$$ in front of the eyes and see things for what they are.
I have been a team owner since season 7 or 8 and have extended team ownership every season.
I bend over backwards for my players and any players for that matter.
This hurts the owners and the players the way its setup.
I'm only 1 voice but I speak for 100's if not 1000's.Many have also voiced in this thread.
Take your time with this cuz its no playing matter. It will affect the game and agents in a bad way more than you know.

You are also discounting the people who don't post on the forums. And let me tell ya their are a shitload of them that spend money on the game.

The best thing they can do is make changes that effect the game instead of listening to the people on the forums that know absolutely nothing on how to grow a game and threaten to rage quit.

Like Catch said, there are 5 people out there who spend money on the game that like this change to the one that opposes it.

Why go into the red? Current new owners were able to do it without going into the red. Older players that built the first time did it.

EQ costs are a separate matter (and getting addressed).

How am I discounting people that don't post in the forums? I am not...my whole point.

We have no clue how many support messages are sent on this.

We do not have the analytics access that GLB staff does where maybe something was seen.

You are assuming something, just like I am. That is the problem...assumptions. None of us have any inside info on everything that goes on.

Like I said take the time it needs to cover all angles before adding it.
Most of the setup I'm in favor of and don't have issues with all of it.
As of right now there are still flaws that need attention.

Oops, my intention was to agree with you and add something else to it.

We are all assuming which is a bad mistake. This change is good for the game no matter how many people quit. That was my point.

You are right as well, Im just saying that people who have played by the rules and built something and were going to start season 15 with a rebuild franchise, and had spend the last several seasons paying for the team /building their stadiums are being dealt a big blow. Thats all. Think about it from their end, they paid money for the team, and decided with abunch of owners they wanted to start something special, now they have no distinction from anyone who just walked in and bought a team. It seems pretty unfair, and makes you feel like the last couple of seasons trying out builds and such, while trying to see what worked well, was a complete waste of time. Hopefully the admin can see where those frustrations stem from.

Seriously?

It's unfair to put reset teams on the same playing field as new ones?

Seriously, what the hell are you talking about?
