In my travels I've learned that "3 inches of snow" can mean a variety of things, depending upon where one is. In Denver, "3 inches of snow" means that its wet, loose, snow and the roads are adequately plowed. Life goes on more or less as it did the day before. In Oklahoma, "3 inches of snow" means it likely sleeted first, laying down a layer of ice, and then the snow itself will be driven down until it TOO becomes packed ice. Driving is extremely hazardous, made doubly so by the general lack of adequate street attention.

Quite correct. It was super ridiculously fluffy snow that, on a warmer day, would have been pushed right out of the way. But it's so cold that the instant a car crushes it down, it's packed, and when multiple cars drive over it and melt it, it turns into ice. The temp is still 1 lone degree here.

Little anecdote, they actually noticed the chemical de-icer was freezing as they layed it down, so they had to scrap all those trucks and fire up the sand trucks to undo the de-icers.

yeah, I was more or less giving him shit. we get a huge mix here. 3" of snow can be anything from light fluffy powder that you could safely ride a motorcyle in, to a wet icy shitty mess in which I'd feel uncomfortable driving an awd subaru

Supposed to go on an official trip to the CU-Anschutz medical campus for a little trip about the campus and some informal sitdowns with some of the people who work and school there. We were told a 'classy casual' attire set is the norm... But it's supposed to be 12 degrees with a little wind. Would it be acceptable to wear a stocking cap or a beanie and/or a hoody over top a nice dress shirt and my cleanest jeans?

No hat and no jeans. Its not a rodeo, get some real pants. No fucking hoody either.

Sport jacket, khakis, and a collared shirt. No tie is necessary. Pull up your damn pants and get make sure the stuff fits, and not huge and sloppy, hanging off of you.

I think they are over 12 years late implementing security for that.

In their defense, they didn't specify the year.

I'd much prefer December 20th security though.

Alright GD I need your help figuring out an auto accident. To preface it, if any of you care, I'm fine. I have whiplash like a bitch and a few cuts but no concussion and I'm alive. I didn't flip my car, which is amazing given how hard the tires dug in.

So on an interstate, with a small bit of ice, I was going 55 (limit 65) in the slow lane (matching the guy to the left of me, maybe 1mph slower than the guy in front of me) when the guy in front of me drifts onto the shoulder, almost hits a stalled car, and swerves back. He slid like a motherfucker, regained, and kept going. I hit my brakes, swerved like a motherfucker, but slid across into the guard rail, bounced off, got t-boned by a guy going 50, and slid down a 12 foot embankment. Now, the guy directly in front of me, who caused all this, sped off. The guy who hit me was livid at me stopped and eventually calmed down, but did seem like he wanted to pin it on my insurance.

Questions:
1. Who is at fault? Is it genius mcfuckwad who sped away from the scene of an accident, mine, or the guy who hit me? He was supposed to be far enough back of me to stop, which he obviously wasn't.
2. I am very limited on money, I'm gunna have to scrap mine and buy the cheapest dirt car I can find. If the guy who hit me does the reasonable thing and reports it on his own insurance, I don't have to do anything further right?
