OH, no doubt, they are the favorites to win it all in Alpha, but I'm not so sure they will be able to stop the Canes or Nites.
Either way best of luck to WS, CS and UC the rest of the way out![](/images/game/forum/smileys/smile.gif)
Strike is a great team for sure, but I'm a little disappointed that Scranton STILL doesn't get any respect around here.
Should be a great game.

I don't have a defensive player and would like to say mahalo to you for your sportsmanship. If you come to the Big Island, look me up and I'll buy the beers.

Chetro,
Its not that Scranton isn't getting any respect. I thought you were a good team before you played us, Fiji, but with the way your teammate(s) came on here and acted, the league just doesn't care for your team in general at this point.
I will say that there are some on your team who have proved to be respectable, like yourself, which is why I still know what you are saying.
I'm sure your team will gain the respect which you think it deserves, but it would have come a lot faster had those previous events not happened.
Either way, best of luck with your remaining games in the playoffs.

I will admit that there was some trash talking. From glancing back at the posts, it was all in the spirit of having fun. This is after all a game. What did set off some Scranton players was the 95% confidence prediction in a game with two terrific teams. I believe that respect is earned on the field more than anywhere else.
Good luck to you as well.

The problem is that the Scranton players got too wound up about the 95% number and overlooked, whether purposefully or by accident, what Ballbright actually meant by it. In addition Ballbright informed everyone that the numbers were no longer accurate because of the massive late boosting of Scranton players, so the 95% confidence level wasn't even accurate at that point.
What is turning others off on Scranton is the fact that those causing a scene refuse to man up and admit that they made a mistake when looking at Ballbright's numbers, instead opting to drag him around face down in the mud because he was wrong. This short-sighted, knee-jerk reaction resulted from the fact that the offender(s) never took the time to think that Scranton may have even been favored had they boosted prior to Ballbright's projections.

I'm not sure where his projections root error was caused, but if he had taken the time to look at the teams instead of the "numbers" he would have realized the 95% was way to high for that game.
Too much was made of the resulting trash talk as well. This should be fun for all, and maybe things were taken too far a little, but calling out someone being ignored with gm scripts is pretty low...
Let's move on and have a good league forum here.
Good luck to all the playoff teams...

I've always appreciated the rankings and predictions. It wasn't just Scranton that thought the predictions were 95% certainty of victory is what the post meant as in indicated in the responses. For me, it doesn't make any difference if we're favored or underdogs but the language in post was misleading.
Brantford over Brisbane (99.9% confidence level)
New England over Canberra (21% confidence level)
Fiji over West Scranton (95 % confidence level)
Emerald City over Newcastle (34% confidence level)
