For now, the 9 speed doesn't seem to be hurting much. But I still believe physicals to get into position for an Interception helps a lot.

Agree - especially on that play - which I don't understand because he has 82 footwork

I think they're linked, but could be wrong. I'm also playing around with an INT CB who's at 70+ INT, but only 1 interception so far(early Soph). My guess is that the number will rise once I start pumping up deflections, and his physical skills

This PUP thing is the perfect way to test that. Have two people team up creating basically identical CBs, except one has deflecting and intercepting and the other has only intercepting. Could answer that question.

You could have the second guy just hold the extra SP from no deflecting investment to do a straight apples to apples for a sample of games. Then you could have the second guy dump those SP into more intercepting and other coverage skills except deflecting and do another sample of games.

Or maybe you could just do it on one dot with a free respec to take points out of deflecting.

my pickup WR is getting an absolute shitton of targets. He's had 5 games today so far & averaging ~12 targets a game.

His first day (day 19) he averaged ~5 targets a game

Day 20 he averaged ~7

Day 21 averaged ~8.6

Now today he's averaging 12

does this actually mean anything or is it just lolpickupgames

He's got 4.88 speed in early Sophomore. I think it's safe to say that if the QB's pressured on 3rd down, he might be the only target actually past the 1st down line. I wonder how many of those targets are on 3rd down.

we should both open our builds to compare

16 of his 59 targets so far today have come on 3rd or 4th down, although a few of those were 3rd and <5.

Not having a CPU Pickup QB do this would be fantastic:

I hate pickup countdown clock resets. Worst gap between pickup games today, and the request was put in pretty quickly:

Completed on: Nov 10, 2015 12:11:47
Completed on: Nov 10, 2015 13:43:47

That's 92 minutes.

It would be nice to have pick-up players have open builds. Hard to test things if you have no idea what the opposition is like.

My QB has been forced to throw to CBs in games. We need more receivers

I don't understand this game.

My CB with 85 footwork and 9 speed.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/237474/1432928

stops backpedalling by tick 17.5

then with 9 speed....somehow gets ahead and stays ahead of the CPU WR by 5 yards.

Why isn't he backpedalling through this coverage route?
What kind of governor is in place that has a CB with 9 speed staying 5 yards ahead of the CPU WR?

My guy has a 6 second 40
CPU has a 5.71
but I'm still faster?

I was hoping that footwork was going to (to some degree) dictate how long the CB stays in a back pedal...but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. Thoughts?

You've got a lot more stamina than the CPU WR does, his plummets quickly (which reduces speed/acceleration), while yours is still pretty high for most of the play.

I'm positive that Footwork helps dictate how long a CB stays in back pedal. I think WR1 route for TE Drive is the culprit, although sometimes I think they stay in back pedal anyways, I'd have to check stuff from my Pro team. TE Drive briefly goes diagonal away from the CB, meaning the CB is out of position and has to readjust. So the sim must think (possibly due to such low speed), that at the current trajectory of the WR, the CB has to fully turn and run instead of partially turn and resume backpedal. I swear CB's will resume backpedal every now and then though.

I'd say, look at some CB's in Pro/Vet against TE Drive, and see how they fair with certain physicals.

makes me wonder if speed>footwork for backpeddle duration?

Your dude had a lot more energy than the WR the entire play. Probably a conditioning issue. All the sprinting in the world isn't going to make a fast dot with 15 conditioning.
