Because he avoids running into the people not blocking him.

And the DE on other settings run into blockers willfully? Why do the blockers block non-elusive DEs if they are not assigned to

Well, they don't try to evade them as much.

I thought that was pretty self explanatory by the descriptions.

You could, but I think a few of you would cross the streams.

A pulling blocker should pick up somebody directly in front of them. Theres no point in blocking downfield when you've let someone blow by you to get the ballcarrier in the backfield. Sure, you dont want pulling blockers pulling back to engage a non-threat, but its silly to see three guys let someone get past them just because "not assigned". I dont really see how letting them engage a defender directly in front of them after they begin the pulling motion hurts anything. The plays work out just great when the OT/G/FB pick up the non-elusive DE, just make DEs on elusive pass rush get engaged by these blockers.

I actually agree with Corndog on the "ghosting" dlinemen, Galithor has posted the same thing several times but everyone ignores him. The problem is the plays themselves are broken (it's obvious looking at the artwork), yet people just keep calling them. Those "ghosting" plays should just get replaced better designed plays. It's understandable why people are frustrated with it though, blockers ignore guys right in front of their face all the time on all different kinds of plays, not just the broken "ghosting" ones.

Can you tell us who exactly is assigned to block the DE?

Pretty much.

I look at the fact that those plays don't work as progress. If illogical plays somehow work (like they used to), something is likely broken.

Next step of progress would be to actually fix those plays.

No one, the idea when you pull the 2 linemen from the same side is the DE is going to blitz himself out of the play towards the QB and the pitch/sweep goes past him so you can ignore that player. You easily counter this play by not blitzing the DE, putting him in a flat zone or setting him to evasive so he tries to go around the oline swings wide and the ball carrier run right into him. It's all working as intended, you just don't like the intent of those plays. The problem is there are very few plays so it's not really like you have different options for outside pitches in certain formations.

If by "very few", you mean "several hundred".
