I am not perfect. I don't consider being drug free to be any real achievement, either. I have some sympathy for the addicts. What drives me crazy is the constant drum beat by those with a legalization agenda stating use is not that bad.

Here is the thing, I feel like when my money is being used to redeem them, I should have some say in whether or not those efforts are made. Some horses just won't run, and at some point you have to stop betting on them and take them to the glue factory.

It is not cost effective to give everyone expensive tests for most things. If you catch it early, it still costs money to treat.

way cheaper to just let them die!

We are? Show me where I said that?

I think fucking around with either one is stupid, but heroin is clearly worse. Like losing a finger versus losing a hand.

oh good, for second there it was almost as if you were claiming that there was a constant drum beat by those with a legalization agenda stating use is not that bad, while in a conversation that was clearly about hard drug abuse.

Are you suggesting the punishment for doing drugs should be losing your hands? It's hard to do drugs without hands. Nobody would ever hit the three strike rule.

You lose one hand and one other body part of the cop's choosing.

Punishment is carried out on the spot by the arresting officer.

IDK, I would say more lives have been ruined by marijuana than paper cuts.

Murder is already heavily criminalized. How's that working out for us?

Clearly, murders still happen and over a third of murderers are never caught. I suppose we should just make it legal and stop fighting a losing battle.

Yes smoking pot and murder are the EXACTLY same thing.

Am I wrong? How many people have smoked marijuana knowing full well it puts their jobs/careers in danger? Their personal relationships in danger? Their health in danger? Their freedom in danger?

Well, you could argue they rejected no option for no option. And you sure as hell could argue that no option is better than a sufficiently bad option.

What if the ACA said you have to shoot a healthy criminal in the face to take their organs for multiple people who need organ transplants? Would that have been better than no option?

I get the feeling the correct answer is supposed to be "no" but................
