There has always been a broken bridge between the two.

yes ofc...but im talking about the ones NOT posting in the forums

I know what you mean. I was just saying that bridge between the two never has been connected in a decent way.

dude...you want me to remember you about my Safety Search. You also came up with your great tip above, until I showed you that even then all were inactive. The market place is complete bullshit. Find Superstars?, No. Find active agents? No. Marketplace says "SHR" for shared builds is set to yes so the build should be open? No! lol. Not even that works. its BS, and any try of defending it is even more bs. OFC I have found some players there, but lets be honest. STH called the "Market Place" Should be the no. 1 option for players and teams to find each other. Yet, its the worst

I think an overhaul of the market place would work wonders on retaining newbs. It probably wouldn't take very long to fix it either.

I'm curious...what is the percentage of users who create an account and stay for a prolong period of time? I would start with trying to keep a higher percentage of newbs here before putting a ton of effort into getting a bunch more users to join. If you cannot keep the newbs here, getting new users to join is a wasted effort.

Fixing the market place should be priority #1 in retaining newbs.
Sending out periodic emails should be priority #2 in retaining newbs. I bet several new users sign up and forget about the game after a few days (probably mainly due to the crappy Market Place). Sending a daily or weekly email would jog their memory to return. Just send out an email when they go inactive saying "Your account went inactive, please log back in to activate it".

This game isn't for the die hard video game guy. If it was, you would see a bunch more traffic on the forums. It is for the casual gamer who likes to spend some time away from a busy life. These type of people get bogged down with RL stuff and sometimes forget about the game if they just started. Sending frequent reminder emails would go a long way IMHO.

Market being updated would be great, also would like to see Ability points added earlier into development vs later... and respecs that go all the way back to the beginning of a players career, and not to just the previous Level.

Respecs going back to the beginning of a career won't happen.

If you want to encourage new players, allow humans to coach the CPU teams and manage their depth charts.

It could be restricted to agents who have one or more players on the team.

How does that work? 2 human guys get their HB on a team and fight over who is the starter? They aren't gonna give human control to CPU teams. That is what buying a human team does.

1st guy to apply gets the job. Restrict it to OC and DC, and you can only hold one or the other.

If an agent is inactive long enough to get the ! symbol on the roster, he's automatically fired & a notice posted in the team forum.

If we're talking about getting people interested in the game, it would help. How many times have you seen a post where someone is really bored because their player is on a CPU team and the play selection/playing time sucks? There is no one to appeal to.

Being a coach is one of the most fun things you can do in this game, and the newbies on the CPU teams are excluded.

Why buy a team if you can do it for free?

So the first guy gets the job and the second guy is f'd because he didn't get their first?

To me it's still better than IA wasting the players.

Adding a feature that make the agents on the team vote for new coordinators if the team has a really bad record at half season would make it interesting and maybe create more interactions in the team forum.

Yeah, absolutely. That's the way it works for human GM's when they're trying to sign players, and I haven't heard anyone whining about that. Why not make it that way for CPU team coaching jobs?

Why indeed? My first season in GLB2 I had one free player and I ended up as an OC. So I got it for free. And it absolutely hooked me on the game and made me want to start my own team.

I'd say - put long time users in charge of CPU teams.

allow only basic pre-existing game plans

allow control of depth chart

auto/sign teams

What? That is certainly not how it works. Human coords send contracts and set up depth charts as needed building around the team they have/want. What you are asking for is essentially a guy being able to coordinate around his player while everyone else watches.
