In regards to the bold... that team wouldnt really be competing while in the WL (hell they dont even make the playoffs and demote). Now they have a 1-2 season window to try and get back into the WL to compete (which they might be unlucky and not make it) but wait you forgot that when they do reach the WL they must recruit more 320 day old dots and start over if they want to remain competitive and keep it going. Who the hell wants to do that? Who wants to play in the WL with a handicap and no shot of winning it (there are always going to be teams that are going all or none)?

I've tried it. We demoted following the experiment (taking the 280 day old dot as well was probably a mistake). We'll be back next season. 4-12 wasn't very good in S12, but we tried. I think we'll be better next season as well when our dots hit day 400...at least I hope so.

We chose to mostly recruit 399 day dots for next season btw. We'll reload in another season or 2 since we don't have a team to merge with.

Well then... you prove my point then. You were unable to compete carrying multiple generations of players. You demoted and realized that was not a good plan if you actually wanted to give yourself a shot at winning the WL. Now you are going all or nothing to try and win next season with a roster full of plateaued dots that will need to be replaced the following season. By doing this your team has no staying power in the WL and are guaranteed a demotion when they all begin to decline. How long do you want to repeat that cycle? Its a lot of work for such a small window.

There is something called "recruiting."

What's a chem hit?

Kind of like a bong hit without weed?

I still think you should not have as much chemistry loss due to players who actually retire off the roster. Not sure why there is not something added that allows you to retire your dot and the team loses less chemistry because it was retirement. Shrug

I agree, although some teams have proven that a bad chem hit doesn't slow down great builds too much.

It's really not that much work. Should have started a farm team. There appear to be ways to create a farm team on the fly though....just need to find agents who like to build dots

The game nowadays is to come up in a weaker Pro conference where you can win with a lot of young dots and some good 68+plateaued dots at key positions. Get to WL and recruit some more lvl 60-65dots and pray you can sneak into the back of the playoffs. Then the following season you'll have 1 shot with most your players pretty much peaking to win the title. If you do or come in 2nd you'll have a big name and can recruit a bunch of dots the following season.

Still, one "lolsim" can mean the difference between a wasted season and the plan all gone to shit though. MEM could have a freak 6turnover game in the playoffs season 14 and have to stay in Pro another season and recruit a bunch more and lose the edge they had more. Minnesotta Marauders of usapl had a bunch of sick builds and i thought they'd end up winnin usapl but still fell short as all it takes is one game (and some pro regions are harder to win than others especially with teams declining promotion each year so more good teams)

Once we get to the season 6-8 dots i think we'll have a lot more "good" builds and underleveled teams like valhalla won't be able to rip through their Pro league with quite the same ease to make it to WL with a 2year window. Also it'll be harder for underleveled teams to make the playoffs in WL. So i think you'll see a lot more turnover in WL as teams sell out for 1 year and then have to do a ton of revamping which can be dangerous at times

Oh yea and mergers or full farm teams (provided all the builds are excellent) change the game but i thought we were leaving mergers out.

Indeed

Several teams will be making comebacks because of this in the near future.

I'll go ahead and say it...

with all these teams declining promotion, will there be a team kept in the WL to pull a Dakar

Imho I'm much more worried about playing well enough to stay here than I am about being able to recruit a competitive roster each year if I say here.

WL recruiting is so loleasy, its not even funny imo.

Sarcasm?

We both are from the slums of lower leagues tbh. WL is the new USAPro in terms of recruiting imo.

Monmouth and Cincy should both go to Uncapped Minor leagues and rule the dot world!

I wonder if an AAA team can refuse promotion to Pro? No different than refusing a promotion to the World League, amirite?
