In regards to the bold... that team wouldnt really be competing while in the WL (hell they dont even make the playoffs and demote). Now they have a 1-2 season window to try and get back into the WL to compete (which they might be unlucky and not make it) but wait you forgot that when they do reach the WL they must recruit more 320 day old dots and start over if they want to remain competitive and keep it going. Who the hell wants to do that? Who wants to play in the WL with a handicap and no shot of winning it (there are always going to be teams that are going all or none)?
I've tried it. We demoted following the experiment (taking the 280 day old dot as well was probably a mistake). We'll be back next season. 4-12 wasn't very good in S12, but we tried. I think we'll be better next season as well when our dots hit day 400...at least I hope so.
We chose to mostly recruit 399 day dots for next season btw. We'll reload in another season or 2 since we don't have a team to merge with.
Well then... you prove my point then. You were unable to compete carrying multiple generations of players. You demoted and realized that was not a good plan if you actually wanted to give yourself a shot at winning the WL. Now you are going all or nothing to try and win next season with a roster full of plateaued dots that will need to be replaced the following season. By doing this your team has no staying power in the WL and are guaranteed a demotion when they all begin to decline. How long do you want to repeat that cycle? Its a lot of work for such a small window.
