Why does USA keep getting shots at the trophy? I realize the HHW game was WPL, but the Shockers game was when they were still in USA, and now Minnesota is in USA...I thought the idea was to spread the title shots around.

Simple, b.c MM is the best Pro team out there, and this is the first Pro defense. If it gets to the 4th defense I wouldn't be surprised to see another USA Pro team, or perhaps Manus or 1-2 others.

It's also kinda convenient that they play MM in Hazy's tourney so it's killing 2 birds with one stone

Why doesn't it carry over...

There are only 40 days in the season...you can only defend once every 8 days...that gives you 5 defenses, their are 8 Pro Leagues and the World League.

If it doesn't carry over then your defenses would look like this every season
World, USA, World, CPL, World...end of season.

It doesn't carry over because you want the best teams facing off, not a 2nd rate Pro team b.c it is "fair". If the best Pro team is in SEAPL then they face off, if it is USA Pro they face off. In the past there was always a heavy rotation between the Pro leagues, but now that the best teams in each Pro league go to the WL, there is no reason to have that heavy rotation as some of the leagues are weaker, and the WL teams who get to fight for it represent every league since they got chosen over other WL teams descending from every league..and I seriously doubt CPL will get the 2nd Pro defense.
