#2 Hong Kong Hustlers at #1 Sumatra Swarm:

This is it folks, the ultimate match, winner of this is hands-down champion of the league, top dog among many great teams.

Since some of our 6th and 7th seeds could win the other AA leagues, and most of our top seeds could win AAA, this match is particularly important. Whoever wins this is legitimately one of the bets teams in South East Asia, and could do well in any league, Pro on down.

Offensive Line:

The Hong Kong Hustlers have one of the best O-lines in GLB. These guys could open up a chain of IHOP's, but in their case it'd be more appropriately called "International House of Predators".

Teams are lucky to have one guy as good as Flap Jacker, Edward Crosby, Bill Dozzer, Harris Barton, and Tre Romero on their team. And these guys have 5! The lowest pancake total in that mix is 81 for the season, and three of them are into triple digits. These guys dominate and abuse opposing defenders.

Even their fullbacks get into the action with Carey Davis(52) and The Ship(32) getting more than a normal fullback's share of Aunt Jemima's syrup.

Sumatra Swarm is full of bigguns too, with Matt Ogier and Jay Brady leading the pack. They've got several other guys who are deadly on their own, but those two combined for nearly 300 pancakes just between the two of them. Just unbelievable. It's hard to stop an offense when you are lying on your back most of the game.

FB Rand Al'thor might not be quite as good a blocking back as the Hustler's tandem, but he's no slouch either with 20 pancakes. He's also able to score on occasion as well, as his 3 TD's attest to.

EDGE: HUSTLERS

Quarterbacks:

The Swarm's Larry Ballstar is a hell of a player, but he's never going to get the kind of opportunities other throwers get playing on the same team as rushing stud, Hal McGlothlin. Still he's been effective all season, making 2 out of every 3 passes, with each completion getting a first down on average. He's been okay in the redzone, scoring 7 TD's against 6 interceptions. He's also been quick enough on his feet to avoid too much hazing, 19 hurries and 4 sacks on the year, means he's survived this season relatively unscathed.

Tony FastPass has been a great offensive general for the Hustlers all season long. Utilized far more than his Swarm counterpart, he's a little less accurate (60%), but he throws a little longer on average, and has converted more throws in the redzone, with an outstanding 19 touchdown throws. Defenders find him a little easier to get to however, as he has been sacked twice as often as Ballstar.

EDGE: SWARM

Receivers:

The Hustlers have several weapons here, but Brent Sanders and Tyler Friesen have been excellent all season. Both on moving the ball downfield, and making the most out of redzone opportunities. The Hustlers have several other weapons that are effective, if not as elite as these two, including an Enigma of a player, Michael Hands, who doesn't put up the overall yardage numbers you'd expect of a receiver of his caliber, but is able to catch the ones that really count, co-leading the team with 5 TD receptions.

Sumatra's lone star is WR Chase Ingme who leads the team both in yardage and TD receptions. He gets some quality help from WR William Reagen, WR Kevin Andrews, and TE Big "O" Tightend, but beyond that Sumatra is pretty thin. This crew can get it done, but thank goodness GLB doesn't have injuries.

EDGE: HUSTLERS

Runningbacks:

Hal McGlothlin... what can I say about this guy? Sumatra is lucky to have one of the best running backs in GLB. He's pretty much unstoppable, you just put the ball in his hands and watch the touchdowns come pouring in. Almost 4000 yards on the season, and 71 touchdowns scored, he's got an 8.1 yard per carry average and scores over 4 times a game. Stop him if you can, he's an absolute beast.

The Hustlers favor running back by committee, and have a stable of backs they rotate in and out to insure tired defenders have no chance to rest. Five different backs have each scored at least 5 touchdowns for them, with Dirk Giggler perhaps being the most dangerous. Still, you need to add up all five of those guys yards and touchdowns and to surpass McGlothlin, and by doing so you also nearly triple his fumbles too. Hong Kong's runningback committee will have to have an amazing game to beat Sumatra on the ground.

EDGE: SWARM

Containment:

DE's Old English and Gabe Brause are the best of a solid, if not superb, Hustler D-line. These guys haven't racked up the stats that a few players on other teams have, but they are playing for a championship now, so they must have done something right. You won't find the Hustlers killing people on sacks or forced fumbles, but they do enough damage and containment to give their offense all the chances they need to put points on the board and win.

Again, Sumatra's got solid defenders here, but is low on the flash you can find on other top teams. DE's Coming4 Yourass and Orvyle Redbacker are tops threats on the squad, but mostly this D-line gets it done quietly and efficiently. May not win them individual player awards, but it's been enough to get them this far, so who can argue.

Swarms's numbers (61 hurries, 17 sacks, 21 forced fumbles and the Hustlers (42 hurries, 22 sacks, 20 forced fumbles) are too close to decide.

EDGE: EVEN

Coverage:

Game-changing talent CB LockDown Pick(SIX) leads eight Swarm players with at least one interception with an amazing 11 picks. CB's Matthew Morazz and Aaron Ross are nearly as good, and these guys are capable of punishing even the best WR's and QB's for the smallest of mistakes.

The Hustlers also have eight players that have picked errant throws off, but have no one near the numbers the Pick(SIX) is putting up. These guys are good, and play solid defense, but Sumatra is in a class of their own.

EDGE: SWARM

Special Teams:

Max Booter has been a solid if unspectacular punter for the Hustlers with a 36.8 yard per punt average.

Kicken Balls makes most of the ones he's supposed to, with 17 out of 21 FG's made and 104 out of 107 extra points attempts.

HB Martin Lynch has been solid for them all year as return man, bringing 2 kicks and 1 punts all the way back for TD's.

Sumatra's legs are just as good and have put up similar numbers. Will Grayson also averages 36.8 yards a punt, and kicker Steve Henson usually makes the ones he's expected to, kicking 22 out of 27 field goals and 91 out of 95 extra points through the uprights.

HB Oleg Petrov hasn't quite been as lucky as Lynch, only bringing back one punt for points, but puts up respectable numbers as a return man.

EDGE: HUSTLERS

PREDICTION: Both of these teams should be very proud of themselves. They kicked, clawed, scratched, and bit their way over some very tough teams from their conference to advance and have a chance of being crowned league champion. If there could be two winners, they both well deserve it. But there can be only one, and Sumatra proves once and for all that Alpha conference is so named for our abundance of Alpha Dogs. It's a tough pack, but they will lead it.

Aw FOOL! Your final prediction should be another good one, not this joke! LoL

We'll beat them by a minimum 20 points. I can see how you being in Alpha you'd think that they're good, but it really isn't even gonna be close honestly. Sorry, just figured I'd come through with one final boast since we're on a roll.

Really though, they won't even get any points till late in the game down by 24 or so.

Good luck swarm, congrats on moving up.

LOL, Zebo... I thought of you when I did the prediction. I knew if I picked Hustlers as favorites, you'd complain about not being underdog, and if I picked the Swarm, you'd complain about being overlooked... LOL. Sometimes ya just can't win.

Both teams are very, very good. And I'm sure you'll both do us proud next season in triple AAA. Good luck to both of you.

We will prove the Swarm as frauds. If you didn't know, their is quite a back-story here.

HKH's starting TE for the last 3 seasons left us midseason. He went inactive and signed on the day after his contract expired (he was sent a new one) to sign with a gutted team.

His owner, "The Ball" owns the Swarm's starting QB as well as GM's the team.

Hong Kong can't wait to crush the Swarm.

I didn't know anything about that. I know he left to go on vacation for almost 2 weeks.

Either way, I don't think it is much of a back story. Not like we have had some sort of rivalry for multiple seasons.

Good luck in the morning.

It's a back story. He had a contract offer sitting on the table, he could have re-signed. He was a female about it.

I was offended by the thing because he never said he planned on leaving, he left us high and dry and now you shall feel the wrath of a scorned Hustler team.

Yeah, our big nasty replacement TE has had a major hand in our unstoppable way of late. The Sausage Man cometh!

HKH to win this one.
We played Swarm in game 16 and I think HKH wins this one with a bit to spare.
