Bort mentions starting a GLB wide commission to settle contract disputes, fine teams that were caught cheating (gutting etc) and the like.

I think a GLB wide commission would take too long to settle anything in an effective manner. But on a league wide level I think we could make something realistically work.

Here are some ideas I had:

A commission of 6 teams (3 Alpha, 3 Zeta) would be invovled in settling a dispute or fining a team caught cheating. An admin or mod assigned to the region would review each decision as well as get the deciding vote in case of a tie. We would also have 2 reserves (1 from each conference) in case one of the 6 teams in the commission is invovled in a dispute.

The 6 teams are elected by the rest of the owners of the league. Would be nice if we had the owners of a top level team, a middle (soon to be top e.g Antwerp Jokers) team as well as a lower team in the commission so all views are accounted for.

The point of the commission would be to find a win win situation rather than place blame and settle petty bickering.

Just some ideas. But if we band together and show Bort we are organized we could probably catch his attention better on the suggestion thread.

This is the thread from Bort that got the ball rolling for me

Excellent plan, IMHO. Hope that it is never needed, but would be a good approach.

As topp said, hopefully it isn't needed, because we seem to have a good group of owners here with little to no funny business going on.

It would be interesting if the commission also were sort of a "league governing body"... well, that sounds too formal for what I'm thinking. Basically they'd be in charge of arranging fun, interesting things to bring the league together and promote the awesomeness of WE AA3. Possibilities: arranging mini-games such as the Pick 'Em competition I tossed around prior to this season; keeping league records; arranging an inter-conference tournament to prove Alpha's supremacy ; arranging inter-league tournaments to prove WE-AA3's greatness to the wider GLB world... and whatever other ideas, small or grand, might come up.

NY Flanders u_u here we go . . .from lvl 11 to 4 . . .so maybe from lvl 14 to 7 at the start of the season . . .

it's not probably the fault of the owner who was on the waiting list but well . . . he's been here, he'd face teams averaging over lvl 25, no chance to compete at all

I don't get it. What is "funny business". What could be construed as cheating?

Nope. Was a very good league with responsible owners and GMs. Just want to keep it that way.

Was? Still is. Just trying to get organized and keep it in the family before some douche from a league that does not know us tries to take over.
