And we're down to four:
1) Sudbury Spartans
They possess the longest win streak in the league and continue winning by convincing margins. Now, they go up against one of the two teams that beat them in the regular season: QC Black Cats. This will be their toughest challenge yet in the postseason, and whichever team wins gets promoted to Canada AA.
2) Queen City Black Cats
They once again beat the formidable Nebraska Husker Maniacs, again doing so convincingly. This sets up what has clearly been the two best teams in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Black Cats need to find the formula they used to beat Sudbury in the regular season, but finding that formula again isn't going to be easy.
3) Vancouver Vindicators
I must confess, I never thought they'd be here at the beginning of the season, but here they are. They are a very good team, and the only top 5 western team that has not suffered a upset in the playoffs. Can they pull off one more against the upstart Beavers? They beat them 38-20 in the regular season, but that was early on and both teams have evolved greatly. This should be a very intriguing game.
4) Saskatchewan Beavers
The underdogs keep pulling it out, but this time they had to come from behind. 14 4'th quarter points sent them to the next round as their defense stepped up and shut out Manitoba in the 2'nd half. Can they keep this current win streak alive and advance? It'll be interesting to find out.
