Ok, we had 8 ballots turned in, 4 from Alpha and 4 from Zeta. I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to put in a ballot as I'm sure it's appreciated by everyone. All votes were counted as a first place vote counting for 2 and a second place vote counting for 1 (and surprisingly there were only 4 unanimous 1st place selections). If there is a tie the tiebreaker was the total number of 1st place votes. Congratulations to everyone who received votes now let the debating begin.

Eh I'd throw John Dolittle for second team, although Jason Jackson is just as deserving.

Eventhough Dolittle had 2 less INTs, he had the same amount of tackles, 2 more forced fumbles and 2 more fumble recoveries.

but hey I'm just trying trying to pimp my guy. :o)

I think next year we should split it between conferences. JMO

I think the "League MVP" designation is kinda dumb. I am all for having the offensive and defensive MVP's, but to basically give someone who already has been named 1st Team Offense and Offensive MVP another award is redundant. I think the league would be much better served to hand out seperate conference awards and stick with the Offensive and Defensive MVP awards. More people are rewarded and given a reason to be active. Just my opinion.

When I finished tallying the votes I noticed that and was quite surprised myself.

Just like real life the league MVP doesn't go to a guy who wasn't able to secure a 1st team designation. Every time the Heisman or league MVP award is handed out it becomes one of numerous awards for that player for that season. Such is life...

But if we're attempting to mimic the NFL, shouldn't both conferences have an all star team?

People usually say things like "Such is life..." about things they cannot change, which is not the case here.

I honestly am proud Tyger Curry and Mark Zito made the 2nd team list. I am surprised Tyger Curry did not make the first list. He was the league leader in yards and tied for 2nd in TD's. Nothing against Prodigy he was fantastic as well just he had less yards and tied for TD's Either way was close!

Glad Zito got the recognition because in addition to the offense stats he had (not so many) he also was a force in the running game with over 35 pancakes himself and a one of the many reasons our running game was so successful.

Congrats to everyone who made it! I am glad to see the mix of players here... Everyone deserved it!
Except Kohn Dith (G) from Warsaw.
I ask that he be removed from this honor as he has been inactive since Aug. 2nd, and is playing backup

Everything else is great though!

What's stopping you from creating a thread to do so? The original argument was made because you want to see more people giving awards which is ridiculous. If you want to hand out participation awards sign up for pop warner...

Actually, I mentioned this in the thread in which the voting was discussed. I dismissed it because I felt it was in the league's best interest to have things go smoothly. I would like seperate conference awards next season.

My original argument was that the MVP award is redundant. Not that we gave out too many awards. There is a difference. Especially since one person would not be getting multiple awards unless they got HB/KR/PR under my proposal. What exactly is wrong about having conference all star teams?
