Week 13 was void of the drama of week 12. How could any week live up to that? No real upsets to speak of left a little boredom setting in. This week could be a little more dramatic with some key match ups between good teams. We have Thanksgiving, The great land grab of 04 and others. So get out your carpal tunnel wrist braces and keep the forum active. It is virtually playoff time lets get the thread rolling. That doesn't mean you gotta talk shit, but some good debates pimping your teams match up or players ability go a long way to improving the atmosphere around the conference.

These are the power rankings. I am not putting them in order of seed, but basing it on whom I believe is the strongest teams.

1 Indianola Legends 13-0-0
Undefeated and the closest game was 14pts. The last challenge to the perfect record should be this week.

2 Oklahoma Thunder 10-3-0
I really dig the way this team does things. They remind me of us last season. A rough start at the beginning of the season, but they did everything right the rest of the way. they will be a monumental challenge in the playoffs.

3 H-Town Hitmen 11-2-0
A set back against Indianola, but that can't be used against them. Well built team that will step up its planning to the next lvl come playoff time

4 Texas Roughnecks 12-1-0
Yeah, they have a better record than Hitmen, but they haven't played. They get the chance to play next week. I think we are splitting hairs at this point.

5 Oklahoma City Spartans 10-3-0
A shot to put a sizeable chink in #2s armor. OKC is similar to H-town of last season. Just right there on the cusp.
6 Dallas Horns 9-4-0
A dissapointing regular season, can only be fixed by making it to the conference championship. I am not sure what this team is made of.

7 Caribbean Sphere 9-4-0
Pretty solid showing the last two weeks. Though they came up short vs TxR, I loved the passing game plan. I warned folks a couple of weeks ago that they could do it at any time.
8 Austin Longhorns 7-6-0
Right where they belong. Needs a OL and Defense upgrade to truly make the turn.

9 Omaha Mavericks 6-7-0
Need some help.

While I have a ton of respect for Thunder I would generally think that a team would have to have a big win or have fewer losses than two teams they had lost to in order to be ranked higher than them at this point. . . . especially a team with two fewer losses.

Are they USA A#1's Notre Dame in that they get ranked high "just because"?

LOL, no I think they are a tougher team to beat than the teams behind them. You are ranked higher than them in the conference standings. I am going by my evaluation of which teams are the strongest and primed for a championship run.

Name a team other than Indianola that you would rather not face in the playoffs.
If you guys put an L in Indianolas loss column, we will be re-evaluating things. Or if OK decides they dont wanna win.

You would be the more obvious choice to play the part of notre dame. I put you more along the lines of Kansas though.

Well other than the fact that both of us have beaten Thunder I guess.

Notre Dame is NEVER ranked below a team they beat.

On an unrelated note. . . . . did you see that Texas' QB of the future is going to be on Fox Sports against my alma mater and A&M commit Ryan Swope?

You beat them in week 2 or three. They have grown in that time. A ton.

I wouldn't necessarily argue that point, but the point I WOULD argue is that they need to go back and re-earn the 2nd seed by beating one of the big boys and not just have it handed to them.

It's a high school game between Austin Westlake and Lake Travis

We'll see, Westlake beat them last year and it's at Westlake.

Never underestimate Westlake.

Wouldnt you rather be seventh? That seems to be the cherry spot for teams that are not a home seed to upset their way to Conference champ game.

I know who they play for, just the last three months, I have quit worrying about recruiting. really since the house fire.
