Which is the better division?

How can you even ask this with the number of gutted teams in the West?

Only take the top 8 teams in each division and compare them?

Everyone in the west could say they were better stat wise, due to stat padding playing the gutted teams. I don't think anyone could come up with a clear cut way to compare the teams other then our own friendly scrimmage challenge between the conferences.

Up until this season I would have said the West, but Sir William is right, the gutted teams have ruined it. I still think the West has the most talented team in the Navigators though and the top 5 teams are all damn good in my opinion.

The only thing is... in the East, our 15th place team has an average player level over 28. I'm not saying level is everything, but without doing the math I would say you would have to climb as high as 4th place in the West to find the equivalent. That sucks for you guys... while my WarChant fights for the eighth and final spot in the East, in the West we would be a shoe-in. I like having to actually plan every week though, it keeps the game interesting.

well I think that the top teams in the west would beat the top teams in the east, but if it's overall, east just plain wins

I think we'll find out in a few weeks, so who cares imo

Friendlies show that is not the case. Friendly matchups reveal:

West #2 JetNation lost to East #5 Windsor (9-3), East #12 JVillians (4-8) (preseason)
West #3 West Coast lost to East #8 Milwaukee Marauders (6-6) (preseason)
West #4 SanFran tied East #2 BTB (11-1) in preseason; SanFran beat East #3 Iowa City
West #5 Beat Milwaukee Marauders, lost to Aggie; both games preseason
West #6 Loss to Hollywood, beat Iowa City (both preseason)

West #1 Lincoln beat Windycity in preseason 7-6. Haven't faced a top team yet outside of that (too busy rolling through the Friendly A tourney

I was surprised to see the losses by Iowa City in the friendlies. Makes me wonder if they are game-planning/making adjustments for the friendlies.

Outside of their lack of success against the West, the top East teams seem to have controlled the West top teams by a fairly wide margin.

To be fair to JetNation, when they lost to us 34-0 in the preseason, it was when the CB mauling bug was still in. Players were getting bumped everywhere and noone could complete a pass to save their life.

What's weird is, I have no doubt if everyone saw our roster, most of our players would start anywhere in this league.

So I couldn't tell you why we lose so much other than depth. When you have 8 guys covering 3 receivers, and your entire secondary is built strong for example, and passes are still getting completed regularly, it kind of becomes a joke. We're lower level than most teams, but it kind of pisses me off knowing the vast majority of our guys could start on teams that beat us (no offense to all you guys, just saying from the open builds I've seen).

What's weird is, we'll go out and play most teams tough and only lose by a few points in the 4th quarter, but then we're go right around and scrim a 4-8 bbb team and lose. I mean we've scrimmed teams with the same gameplan as us, with a roster we can see and know we're pretty superior too, and still get blown out. And that's with both teams using the same gameplan and AI. It's kind of ridiculous because I can't figure out what it could possibly be at this point other than depth, which is a legit issue.

And here's what I think is really ridiculous...

There have been some DEs we've played with open builds, that would have a decent amount of sacks in the season, and when checking the gamelog they're pretty spread out against non-gutted competition... and yet we'll have 2 to 3 DEs just like that, but better in every aspect, and yet we'll we're dead last in the league in hurries and third-worst in sacks. Something I can not explain, period. Even against a gutted team, we couldn't get a sack.

Are you telling me a level 11 OT is handling a DE with 80+ speed and proper specials, agility, vision, stamina and strength? I mean really? Like, something is seriously wrong if we can't even get pressure against a bunch of level 11s. That might be on the low-end for a speed DE at level 25, but it certainly should be working against level 11s regardless. If only in the first half, it should at least do something.

i'm a failure and I can't figure it out =(

Yeah, was looking at those preseason games and thinking that the results should just be thrown out at this point. Too many bugs at that time

Preseason games? Get outta here! I know I lost that Aggiefans LOD game because I had my FGs set up wrong, and we went for it on 4th when we could have gone up with a FG. Good thing I found it and corrected it though. That's the point of those preseason games.

It was everyone's first time messing around with all the new options and game mechanics. Not much can be drawn from preseason.

agreed already.

How about this?

#1 Misfits vs Lincoln - Edge Lincoln for now
#2 JetNation vs BTB - Edge BTB
#3 WestCoast vs Windsor - Edge Windsor
#4 SanFran vs IowaCity - SanFran because they won the friendly. A coinflip though (5 turnovers by IowaCity).
#5 LosAngeles vs Windycity - Edge Windycity. LosAngeles losses to their own divisions weren't that close. Windycity lost close games to their rivals in the East.
#6 Yazoo vs VEGAS - Edge VEGAS. Once again decent sized losses vs West bring down Yazoo. VEGAS has close losses and even have an upset in beating Iowacity.
#7 DreadCity vs Milwaukee - Split. Dreadcity is on a 3 game losing streak. Milwaukee can't beat better squads but beat who they are supposed to.
#8 Chatahoochee vs WEST #8-14, possibly 15; EDGE WEST.

using this comparison and my own compromised view, East is clearly better than West.

Yeah, but what are you basing these on? Why does Lincoln have an edge over the Misfits? Why does BTB edge out Jetnation?

The fact is our conferences only play 1 game a season against another team picked at random...I don't see how you can draw any conclusions from that.

ok I can see that >>

but we can agree that lincoln kicks everybody's butts?
