Brooklyn Beastmen vs. Tana River Ewoks

This is an easy one, the toughest part is rpedicting the score. Tana River has pretty good but they were probably hoping for 7-4 instead of 5-6 at this point. This isn't a game they can lose though as Brooklyn is still jsut an A6 practice dummy. Tana stretches its legs and enjoys padding some stats.
47-9

Mentone Beach Assault vs. Hellas Longhorns

Mentone is easily one of the 5 strongest teams in A6 West and Hellas is their counterpart on the opposite end of the spectrum. Mentone boats on fo the best offenses with the conferences highest completion % and a top-notch run game. Hellas will struggle to find success in the form of FGs but I think TDs are too much for them to ask for on this defense. Mentone will take this easily but its not really a game they have been looking forward to as they come into a 2 game stretch against Chicago and SanDiego.
58-0

Austin Beavers vs. Sooner State Shockers

Not even worth my time, the Shockers cant even see the same lvl that the Beavers stand on and this is just the 2nd of many embarrasing lossess for the gutted Shockers. Austin enjoys padding their stats as much as everyone else does, they take this one with ease.
145-0

Oklahoma City Strikers vs. San Diego Demolition

Someone else wanna do this one?

Cleveland Elves vs. Barbarian Horde

The Elves are a solid team that just cant seem to perform well on gameday against the stronger competition that A6 has to offer. The Horde are comming off a 255 point wooping and look to keep their 7 game win streak alive. They boast one of the strongest running offenses and a stingy pass D that Cleveland will be hard-pressed to beat. Horde takes it and pushes their streak to 8 in a row as they look to finish the season undefeated since week 4.
44-10

Albuquerque Isotopes vs. Death Valley Grave Diggers

Albequerque is looking for a win that will held them solidify a playoff appearance and a chance at creating a 1st round upset, something they are definately capable of pulling. Death Valley is still trying to find its footing after a rough first half to their season 4 hopes. Looks like they will completely miss the playoffs this season and I see a full renovation comming sooner than later. Isotopes use one of the leagues better running games and stronger defenses to crush DeathValleys hopes of making the playoffs completely.
33-24

Big Bear Avalanche vs. Lake Placid Predators

These 2 teams battle it out at the bottom of the charts. BigBear looks to be relegated at the end of the season and Lakelacid needs to win to make sure that doesn't happen. A powderpuff football game here, girls in skirts and pads...Only, not as much of a crowd around for this one. Predators take this down and keep, ummm, crawling(?) along.
24-10

Huskers Illustrated Bugeaters vs. Chicago Hedgehogs G.O.T.W.

This is easily the Game Of The Week in the West and I have decided not to take the easy road and go with the upset pick. 2 high powered offenses duke it out for bragging rights although a win for either team will not do much for their standings right away, but could have a lasting impact on Chicagos playoff seed. The Bugs are comming off a thriller against SanDiego where they made it all the way to the .5 yard line and ran out of time trailing Demo by 5.The Hedgehogs are comming off a not-so-great showing against Austin who really threw a wrench in Chicagos league leading passing game. I see the Bugeaters comming off a tough loss looking to prove their worth and its possible we could see Chicago stumble in a very close game. The Bugeaters win this one.
27-20

My picks in bold obviously, the Game Of The Week underlined. Not too many great games this week, just the Bugs and Chicago duking it out. Should be a good one to watch.

The Predictor says...

Isotopes 29 - Grave Diggers 16
Beavers 29 - Shockers 17 (ok, this will be more like 150-0)
Horde 60 - Elves 13
Predators 39 - Avalance 13
Ewoks 59 - Beastmen 9
Hedgehogs 26 - Bugeaters 23
Assault 97 - Longhorns 8
Demolition 40 - Strikers 21

I have something messed up that's causing the Predators/Avalance game to have different scores between the teams. I can't figure out what it is, but if the score ends up close to Predators 77 - Avalance 13, I picked the wrong one. LOL

Nice predictions fire. I'm gonna have to hope your wrong on the hedgehogs going down though of course .

Prediction:

Demolition 31, Strikers 21

The strikers have beat all the second tier teams they've faces but are consistantly a step behind the top teams. Look for the strikers to keep it close and play hard, but I just don't think they have the firepower to keep up with the demolition.

Early results show at least one "upset"...

No spoilers...

7/7 and it was definately my best week yet. Especially getting it right on my prediction of the Bugs over the Hedgehogs, the Bugs are strong and can beat anybody, anywhere.
My prediction - 27-20
Actual Score - 45-28

I saw Bugs with a convincing win, but I didnt see it being THAT convincing. Wow.

Just goes to show A6 is really where its at if you want good competition. Seems its made everybody better this season. Great game.

Great game OKC, that league-leading HB of yours is a handful.

Just reinforcement of the balance among the top 5 in the West. More big games coming in the next few weeks though. I'm thinking there will be a lot of playoff spots determined by tie-breakers.

Yea theres a good chance of that happening at this point. Very exciting though, the playoffs are gonna be nuts.

This kind of competition almost makes you not want to move up. I doubt there are many more leagues as fun as this one.

I know you're talking about the West, but I feel the same way in the East. I'd love the trophy, but its more fun to wonder how any given week is going to go.

Good upset pick

Good game Hedgehogs. We were looking for revenge after choking it at the .5 yard line last game.

Next season is going to be fairly interesting in the East. If our worst team is Seabrook (FAR from gutted and always steal enough wins to avoid relegation), followed by the Bullit that you can never take for granted, the East is going to be pretty amazing. The most likely candidates to advance from the east are the Brooklyn Bomb Squad who are probably good for 8-9 wins, and the Bearphins which might be good for 9 to 10 wins.

Then again, looks like DAG is going to return home. Still, if nobody guts, its going to be interesting. I think IF we manage to advance (which is going to be very tough) we'll have a better record than if we stayed put.

GG canes. Very nicely done by the bugeaters. The hedgehogs look forward to giving you a better fight in the playoffs. Very strong win though.

It's a stretch but given our easy remaing schedule we have a chance of catching the playoffs.

East is looking brutal from top to bottom, and I think the Bearphins will be able to come ina nd challenge for the #1 spot right away next season. That team is really strong and they gave us one hell of a fight. I couldnt see many teams in the East beating them. Just gonna add to it all I guesse.
