Prince George (CP)… Having a kickoff returned for a touchdown is not common in any single game. Having two come back in a single game is about as common as, well, a Sasquatch sighting.
Sasquatch kick returner Beer Man brought returns of 85 and 92 yards to the house in Tuesday’s game against the Prince George Warriors in a 66-17 annihilation.
“It’s obviously a big morale boost for us, coming off two straight losses,” said Man, “Now excuse me, cuz its time for a cold one.”
Paced by Joe Tagger and Alge Burro throwing for almost 300 yards, the Sasquatch were offensively relentless against the winless Warriors. Hawk Wayland continued to prove himself as a top back, piling up 158 yards in just 15 carries.
The Sasquatch defence were challenged by a game Warriors offensive unit but held firm to prevent an offensive shootout. Back to back sacks by Benjamin Wood and Mike Redcliff in the second quarter set the tone as the ‘Quatch held the Warriors scoreless in the second half.
“It was a solid outing but we still have room to get better,” said defensive coordinator K.A. Ching, “We’re in the playoff hunt but I’m gonna call on all my boys to raise their game so we can not just make the postseason, but see some wins in it as well.”
The Sasquatch host the Toronto Lockdowns in their next contest.
