(Season 4)

This will be a little different from last season. We will have an All Alpha 1st and 2nd team, and O/D/ST players/management of the Year. I am also going to give a 12th man award.

*Rules for All Alpha Team voting*
-Do not vote for players on your own team
-Pick two players for every position
-1st place=2 points
-2nd place=1 point
-I will add up the points at the end of the regular season, and assign the players to 1st or 2nd team.

*Rules for O/D PLayers/Management/Special teams of the Year*
-Do not vote for players on your own team-
-Pick three players for each category-
1=3 points, 2=2 points, 3=1 point-

*Rules for 12th man of the year*
-Nominate two offensive and defensive players from other teams-
-same point process as the all alpha team
-players cannot be starters

Only teams in alpha may vote, and you must vote for alpha players only. Every team needs to vote. Only one rep/team, and teams may only vote once. You don't have to go strictly by stats. Some players have a major impact on games, but don't get tons of stats.

I really like these things and definitely think zeta should have one too, also I know I'm not from alpha, but still I have to ask:

Isn't it a little to early voting for this with 6 games to go?

I'm just getting the post up and running. I want teams some time to get an idea of who they are going to vote for before going into the last couple of games. Teams can always submit an early ballot, and then edit them if they change their minds. The cutoff point is the day after the last regular season game.

I agree. Jordan's got the yardage but only because he's caught about twice as many passes as any other WR. I would expect more of an impact than just racking up yardage to be #1. Only 4 TDs so far. Other WRs have done more with less receptions. Passehl has caught less than half the amount of passes and already has 6 TDs and averages 4.7 YAC. We'll see how the season unfolds.

This is what I want to see. Stats are not the only important thing when voting for a player. I would look at impact in tough games as well.

I am the owner of WR Passehl and I also run our Offense. We'll see if I can't have an impact on how this turns out !!

Somebody who has the time should list out candidates for these positions and then we can vote. Or, if you want to nominate someone on your team for a position on one of these teams, the owner can do that.

Maybe something like the all-star game in baseball where one player from each team has to be represented and then fill the team with the rest.

Here are players I would nominate from my team... I will not have the time to look through all the players in the league to properly fill this.

Defense

1)John Harold Lambert - LB - League Leader in Tackles with 122 with 3 hurries and a forced fumble

2) Bob Graber - CB - #8 in total tackles at 96 with 16 pass deflections and 1 int

3) Garey Faculdade - LB - #11 in total tackles with 84 with 1 int

--------------------------------------------
Offense

1) Are you kidding.... we have scored a total of 36 points on the year

--------------------------------------------
Special Teams

1) Ijustran ByYou - KR - #2 in total return yards at 1830yds

Team MVP - John Harold Lambert
Defensive MVP - John Harold Lambert
Offensive MVP - Marcin Marcinkowski

Team LVP - Owner/GM's

I agree with the above ^^^^^ statement. It will be hard to accutately/fairly go through each team's offense and defense to pick out 1-3 players for each position. If each team would nominate cetain players for this award then we can take a look at those individuals and go from there. I say let the nominations begin (I know we have 5 games yet) and this can be finalized the day after our last game. If agree, say so, otherwise we can just pick our top selections to fill the squads.

No...for the all alpha team, you want to basically make your dream team with everyone else's players. This keeps things objective. Your voting can be based on whatever you want it to. The 12th player is the only award where you nominate your own players.

I am going to respectfully disagree with tedtinker. That takes way too much time.

Here is my proposal for creating the team.

1) Each team owner puts together a maximum of 10 players to nominate to the all-alpha team.
2) Each team owner selects at a minimum 3 players for the all-alpha team
3) Each team selects a team offensive and team defensive MVP and an overall MVP from their own team

Each owner creates a post with the title - "AAT - Team Name" or as an example
"AAT - Big Red Machine"

The owner can edit their post from now until season end. (Edit... not create new threads... keep them short and sweet..also, please refrain from commenting on these)

At the end of the season, the league gm (do we have such a thing??) can pool these for the owners to review and vote on... if we dont have enough of a certain position the league gm can let the owners know of missing positions and request additional additions to fill them.

League owners will vote on these players and build the team. Then the league owners will choose an Offensive and Defensive Captain from the team.

This way each manager can have input on the team without having to scout all the other teams. I noticed that some managers don't want to choose players, but suck it up and nominate some. We know some of the teams are "TEAMS" but hey... this is just for fun. If you don't want to select players, we will just leave your team out and note that in the list.
