We’ve made our way to the halfway point of the regular season, and the playoff race hasn’t really become any clearer. With 3 undefeated teams still, and 6 teams at 4-4, a lot can happen the rest of the way out.
Reb thanks for filling in for me last week. You did an awesome job, and if want to throw up your predictions in here every week too, we can compare them week to week.

Now I know I’ve slacked for the last 2 weeks, so without any more delay, here is your full dose of week 9 predictions!!!!

Game of the Week:
Belfast Mafia (8-0) @ Warsaw Knuckleheads (8-0)
So the unstoppable force meets the immovable object in this battle of the unbeaten. Someone is going home unhappy this week. The both teams are coming off big wins against good teams and hope to keep it rolling. Warsaw continues to pound the ball on the ground led by RB Kal-El Jones, while QB Tyranny Vault leads the Belfast attack. It’s going to be a big game for the whole league and everyone will have an eye on who pulls this one out.
In a real slobber knocker, the Mafia will pull out a 31-28 victory.

Dublin Drunken Monkeys (4-4) @ Grim Reapers (8-0)
Grim is the other remaining undefeated squad left, and they are battling against a good Dublin team who has just underachieved so far this year. Both of these teams have very similar talent, and Grim is hoping to keep the ball rolling, as this may be their first true test this season. If Dublin can overcome their chemistry issues, they could really give the Reapers a run for their money, even though this season has been somewhat disappointing for them so far.
In a “Too close for comfort” Special, Grim sneaks out a 28-21 win.

Vatra Dornei Wraiths (2-6) @ Transylvania Bloodsuckers (7-1)
The Bloodsuckers continue on their hot streak, ripping off win #5 last week by putting up 72 on Ithaca. The Wraiths are coming off a tough 15 point loss to the Reapers. Again this one is going to come down to whether the Wraith defense can slow down the force that is Jason Coker and the Bloodsucker offense.
In a big way, the Bloodsuckers win with a 63-10 win.

Clydesdale Colts (0-8) @ Amsterdam Arctic Blast (6-2)
Amsterdam is coming off a very tough loss to Belfast, while Clydesdale continues to struggle. RB Rut Men continues to pound the football and lead the Amsterdam offense. I don’t see a way the Colts low them down, and Amsterdam runs away with a 56-7 win.

Basin City Blues (4-4) @ London Brawling Tommies (4-4)
Basin City has got the ball back rolling again with 2 straight wins, while London has won its last two games by a combined score of 158-0. This figures to be a good match as both of these teams are coming in hot. London is led by its three-headed rushing attack, while the Blues is lead by their passing attack. This one is going to be close but in the end, I think the Blues will pull our a 21-17 win.

Wrexham Maelor Brionnfhionn (0-8) @ Kilkenny Cannibals (4-4)
Wrexham has had a very tough year so far, and they are looking to at least have a good 2nd half, as the schedule gets a lot easier. Kilkenny has made its way back to .500 and is battling for a playoff spot. CB Bor McClutchington leads the Wrexham defense as they try to score their first victory. QB Meko Fountain looks to keep Kilkenny going as they’ve won 4 of their last 5. In a lot closer game than most people think, Kilkenny wins, 21-20.

Crimson Cream Sooner Machine (0-8) @ St. Louis Storm (4-4)
CCSM still hasn’t got off the schnied, and St. Louis continues to be led by RB Jerry Applewhite. I don’t really see a way CCSM can compete in this one, and the Storm rolls onto a 42-14 win.

Ithaca Space Munkees (1-7) @ Oklahoma Outlaws (4-4)
The Outlaws continue to try and battle for a playoff spot, while the Munkees have lost 7 straight and are trying to salvage the season. Their two very tough DT’s lead Oklahoma’s defense while Ithaca will try to get the ball rolling behind QB Swankwell Gunslinger. Oklahoma will continue to push their way toward the playoffs with a 35-24 win.

I'd take that. I know how incredibly painful it must have been for you to type that, so the Angels of Death will try to end it quickly, so y'all don't suffer.

Wish I had time to play "dueling predictions" with ya, but tomorrow I'm on a plane to Scotland on business for a month, but don't let that get your hopes up. My son is the architect of our "D" who's been one of the best of'em so far this season. He'll still be here to run things in my absence, but I'm hoping I can get internet access over there so I can still chime in & harass the troops once in a while.

Aww darn... I was hoping to go at it with the Reb.

And I may have wrote that, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to do everything in my power to prove myself wrong...

No worries... I've already set this week's strategy, so although I'll be in Scotland by game-time, you'll be "done-in" by old Death Incarnate his own bad self!

I hear every word of that sh*t! The Reapers have a straight run of....

Dublin
Belfast
Warsaw
Amsterdam
Transylvania

...a virtual gauntlet of 5 great teams in a row. I'd imagine several of us are looking at a very similar campaign & I don't foresee any of us coming through it unbloodied.

Everyone has done it/is going to do it Reb.. Look at the " TOUGHEST 5 OPENING GAMES " Thread. We all listed our 5 game streak, starting with ... someone and ending with Oklahoma.

My apologies to "Someone"

Yeah, that someone has had a rough stretch of their first 3 of their 5 game stretch, but we plan on fixing it this week.

Great game Belfast. We made several mistakes, and you took advantage of them like an elite organization should!

Dublin with the upset! It was only a matter of time before you guys got things together, and I don't think it could have come at a better moment. London is also turning some heads out there with huge wins over BCB and the Blast. As for Kilkenny, great game today Wrexham, it still amazes me you guys are winless with that roster.

Wow, it's an understatement to say that I feel lucky to have won this game. Without the turnovers, you guys beat us by atleast 2 TD's.

Great game Warsaw.
