Wow, I may be in the minority but I think this season has been great, filled with surprises both good and bad. Parity is up as the difference between the 5th team and the 13th team is only 3 games. No team can go into cruise control, not even the top of the hill teams such as the Swarm, Gunners, Foxes, etc.

Newcastle Mountain Lions at Rancherito Mantas
Lions get a chance to lick their wounds after two tough losses. Mantas will be a good snack.
Lions by 35

Redclife Sharks at Budapest Brawlers
Sharks continue their march back up the rankings with a good old fist fight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsJH3_txX7s
Brawlers get KO'd by 28

WSP at Dharma Initiative
Po and the troops keep battling to stay in the playoff picture. Dharma and Hulk can crush those hopes with a good game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YygSnLpmWpU
WSP by 7

Perth Pirates at Lexington Armada
Pirates win this sea battle, put the nail in the Armada's relegation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3VmwODZkVU&feature=related

---------------Playoff implications------------------------
Brisbane Troyfins at Hamilton Falcons
Whoever wins this game claims the #8 spot (for now). Both teams are evenly matched so gameplanning and limiting mistakes are what is going to win this game.
Brisbane gets the slight edge, win by 7

Rockhampton Raiders at ASRW
ASRW has slid heavily and need to staunch the flow anyway they can or them may fall completely out of contention in a Zeta that has grown leaps and bounds since last season. Raiders need to continue to grow as all their wins this season have come at the expense of the lower levels of the league.
ASRW by 20

Guadalcanal Gunners at Devonport Devils
Last season's version of the Devils put a scare into that season's Gunners during the regular season. This version of the Devil's are stronger and faster. The Gunners need to be prepared because the action is going to be fast and furious and if the Gunners stumble, the Devils will take them down.
Gunners by 13

Fiji Flying Foxes at Tasmanian Swarm
We find out which team is for real with this game. I give the edge to the Foxes if they play a clean game, but if it gets sloppy, the game goes the Swarms way.
Foxes by 14

That minority includes me too. There are a ton of great teams in our conference. Every week is exciting.

I'm enjoying it as well. I agree that the parity means that any playoff team has a chance to represent Zeta in the championship game. Some teams are better than others, but none of the playoff teams are so much better or worse than the others that an upset can not happen (at least in my opinion).

Ghetto, I was surprised by the 7-3 score against Perth. I expected both teams to score more.

The game was ours for the taking and we couldn't close the deal. With less than a minute left and on the 11 yd line we could put it in. Was a great game.

yea.
I'm the defensive coordinator, i didn't brake down what happened offensively yet, but defensively we didn't play our best game either. We gave up alot of yards, and were somewhat fortunate to give up only 3 points.

Fiji is by far the best offense we will have seen all year, it will be a great test to our defense that has given up an average of 5 ppg.

looked like a solid game, no excessive turnovers. Last season the Pirates turned on the burners for the second half of the season, that going to happen again this time around?

I was surprised by the Swarm & Pirates score.

The Pirates have improved so much since last season. With that said I think the Swarm are the most improved team in the conference.

Swarm are good but they have their 4 toughest tests upcoming, Foxes, Lions, Gunners and Devils.

well, mainly getting kicked around by the seniors but you aren't eliminated from contention yet.

I think the swarm slacked off in the Perth game to throw off Fiji.
