Game of the Week
Marseille Argonauts at Glasgow Lions
This one is as much a coin flip as anything, as far as I am concerned. Both teams are playing great football and showing a great level of contention for playoff time. 8 more points, and the Lions would be undefeated. Conversely, the Argonauts have suffered a couple pretty big losses. That would give Glasgow a big edge... had they played and beaten either of those 2 teams.
Both offenses have the capability to get things rolling in this game. I feel they both have a slight edge over the defenses they will be facing. However, i don't feel the Defensive Depth of the Argonauts squad is going to be up to the challenge. If Glasgow gets a lead, I expect them to keep it. And if they are not far behind, they are very capable of easily regaining control in the 4th. So I pick Glasgow in what could be a very exciting game.
Lyon Breakers at Belfast Commandos
This Belfast team is going to prove to be too much for Lyon to compete with. Lyon has the capability to beat "better" teams with good gameplanning, but Belfast definitely has the gameplanning ability to go along with their talent. They won't in this one by 50 or anything, but I don't look for it to be decided in the 4th.
Belgian Beers at South Yorkshire Stars
Well, the Beers are a good, respectable team, but I don't think their defense can contain the SoYo offense. This is another one that probably isn't going to be a total blowout... but it should be a pretty safe win for the Stars and one to get out of the way for the Beers.
Cork City Wildcats at Southriding Sting Rays
Now, I don't want to offend anyone when I say this. I would hate to hurt someone's feelings by not saying enough kind things about them. So i will adjust my usual approach. Cork City is going to play a beautifully-executed game with the most talent and raw power you can possibly show on a field without actually winning. It will be the best loss anyone has ever seen, and the world will rejoice.
With that said, the Rays are coming off another good win, and will look to continue that this week. Cork has the capability to stop it, but the Rays have been firing on all cylinders and are likely going to be too much to stop.
IKK Fu Rabid Mutineers at Belgrade Bulldogs
IKK is out for blood after their first loss of the season. I don't expect they overprepared for this one, as some teams would coming off their first loss. But whether they did or didn't... they will still win this one commandingly. Bulldogs have some good pieces, but they just don't have the whole puzzle just yet. Their best hope seems to be limitation rather than victory for a game like this.
Reykjavík Lazytowners at Snuggles Vikings
Well, the Vikes are rolling again and have found a groove. They are facing a Lazytowners team that hasn't shown much of a reason to worry about them, thus far. I look for Snuggles to capitalize on a huge personnel advantage and dominate this one by force. With little opposition.
Sweden Army at Bow Street Runners
Now to prove I am showing no favoritism: Bow Street Wins this one in the worst possible game you can play and still win. It will be the ugliest and most disgraceful and shameful victory ever attained in GLB.
Somebody's Gotta Win
Spaniard Warriors at Port St Lucie Knuckle Dusters
Well, chalk one up for the home team this week as I expect the Knuckle Dusters to walk away with their first victory of the season. That spaniard defense has proven to be a bit on the ineffective side, despite an offense very capable of putting up points. Both of these teams would not be winless in a lot AA leagues, but it's beyond control. Congrats to the winner for a well-earned morale boost.
