Yes, its true...Vancouver Crush was jsut sold not even 5 minutes ago.
All those solid players, all that hard work, done, finished, all for nothing.

2 days ago I told our owner that he had to begin taking over the reigns a bit, I had done everything that it took to put this team together up until this point. Recruiting, scouting, gameplanning, tactics, everything.
I have 2 other teams I run and I told the owner he had to begin to learn the way thigns worked, how to socut, how to gameplan and recruit.

Being the kinda guy he is, he decided he didn't want to do it himself, so he signed a new GM today. I had no knowledge of it until I saw the new GM make a post introducing himself, then locking ti for noone to say hi. Whatever right.

About an hour later the owner calls my attention to the trades his newly appoiinted GM supposedly made without the owners consent. The new GM traded away 4 of our players lvls 17-19 for 2 players, a 21 CB and a 21 FS. Both positions we were already stacked at.

It was too late to retract the offers, and the old GM wont come out of hiding to respond to my PM.
I told the new owner what anyone else in my place would tell him, that hes an idiot, and he shouldve thought about giving a complete stranger free reign of someone elses team.

At this point, the owner threw a fit, complained about how bad of an owner he was, and said he was selling the team and was going to buy a new team for himself.
Without warning, he did it, sold the team, with all our players on it.

And that was the end fo Vancouver Crush.

What a fucking trip.

Vancouver going from a power house to a gutted team... Sorry Canada, I won't be resigning when my contracts end on Day 17... I can only hope the new owner has the decency to cut my 2 guys who were just there for xp instead of rotting them.

Wow, and some players are on long term. You sure took yourself out of there right quick, though.

I'm glad to see that the owner didn't gut the team, though; I think that's a move in the right direction. It's gonna be difficult holding together for the next few days; but there's a chance the team will get a solid owner, probably somoene even better than he was.

Hopefully the Crush stay together; and give the new guy a chance. This league doesn't need any more gutting. We've now lost Vancouver, Alberta, and Blitzkrieg midseason. We already had slow and low builds in Bologna, Sacramento, and Canadia.
The Crush still have a chance to make the playoffs if this roster can stay together. I hope they do; I had marked our interleague matchup as the most difficult game of the regular season.

Yea we will see what happens, Im gonna be keeping a close eye on it. When the new owner comes on I will do my best to convince him to release the guys but even then you can only release 2 players a day. The best he could do is give everyone enw contracts ending on day 40. I tried to send em out but was locked out before I could.

Shame.

I know you had other plans, that's what started the downfall; but you could save the team if you offer assistance and advice to the new owner since you know the agents and inner workings of the team. Ask for a minor GMship, even without players you could at least act as a mediator to settle the adjustment. I think this team could be fine, and Caledric, I sympathize with your concerns. But don't write someone off before they even have an opportunity. He's gonna need people like you to keep the Crush competitive

This is why releasing a million teams at a time is a terrible idea. Petty children end up buying them looking for fame and glory but put in no work. MattMan did everything for us, and he's a hell of a GM. If the next owner is smart, he'll try to bring him back aboard.

I think the owner (elwayboywhatever) might have posted like 2 times on the forum since the team was created.

With him selling the team, that stopped the trades. I see no trades pending on the Crushes roster. When the new owner takes over, do not convince him to cut players, convince him to keep going in the direction you were going. All your team was missing was an active great owner. If you get one, you will be stronger than before.

Trust me, I play you in 2 days. I want you to be strong and not gutted. Beating Vancouver the Gutted would be a waste of effort. Beating Vancouver the Kick Ass would be great. Losing to Vancouver the Kick Ass would suck but at least it would be better than beating a gutted team that I was looking forward to playing the whole season.

Think about it. Do not piss away a great team that you have worked so hard in building.

Coach Dawg

ps Great rivalries are two teams that when they play each other, really means a lot as to who wins the league and who does not. Gutted teams never are thought of as rivalries.

I wish broncosfan knew just how good he had it. As an owner I work my ass off game planning and dealing with my players.

I have a few good GMs, but they haven't proven to be the most reliable people, so in order to ensure that my team isn't flying blind I have to go and make my own game plan ready to be put into place in case the GMs pull a no show (which has happened twice already)

Matt was highly active and did everything for the team. I wish my GMs were just half as active and motivated as he was, would make things a lot easier on me if I didn't have to worry about every single aspect of running the team.

That really sucks. I hope the new owner will take care of the players and do the right thing.

Just curious as to what the "right" thing is in your mind.

I think everyone in the league recognizes Laval, Vancouver as a great rivalry. It would be a shame if it died now.

I have the utmost respect for the Irish in this league. It's my most anticipated matchup of the season, but I wouldn't quantify it as a rivalry. I'd say its closer to Venus vs. Serena than NC vs. Duke. Puvi, Lancaster was last month's news in the East; but even though the Kidz left the league, it was still a must win for the Musketeers this season. Luckily, we still have plenty of wanna-be rivals in Antioch, and Quebec. If you lose Vancouver, who's left for Laval?
