8 team tourney. Volunteer (non owner) to help select the highest level field from the teams interested.

It cost you max 75 FPs, 25 FPs per game (with a max of 3) to finish the tourney. Well Top Canada "A" teams what do you think?

Edit: We go with multiple tourneys and have a point system to see which league can garner the highest ranking by wins.

This should just take place at the end of the season, between all 8 league champs.

I think 16 person tournament would be fun.
Each conference champion from last season. These are the teams that would have been promoted, and although some leagues may now have some parity at the top, those 16 teams have already proven they have what it takes to win the big games.

We get 3 srimmages per season, I was thinking of having a selection committee of non team owners to select the best overall Teams as of say mid season, We could do one team from each of the Canada 8 leagues, or do the highest 8 overall, based on strength, record.

The Grizzlies nominate Ajax Odyssey. They won the league last year, and still have a strong team. Canada A#1 Eastern Conference.

Chiefs would possibly be interested.

Toronto Flames would be happy to join if chosen.

End of season would be best...and matchups could be set by league number 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, etc.

If you want 16 teams, make it so the two teams that reach the conference finals from each A league are automatically entered.

If any of those teams dont want to do it, it would go to the next team down the line. For example, if the loser of Canada A5 finals match doesnt want to participate, the team that they beat to get to the final game would get the spot.

I think 8 teams is enough. Keep it short and sweet. And it's MUCH simpler that way. Trying to organize and get 16 teams to cooperate is probably 10 times harder than just organizing 8.
