Okay here we go. It was wildly successuful in my first run at them last week. I got thousands of PM's from people from all over GLB saying they needed more...so here we go for Game 5.

Vermont/Baltimore - Not exactly the game of the week as Baltimore if over-matched.

Rhode Island/Crimson Marauders - this one is a candidate for game of the week. Rhode Island has played some tough teams early in the season and come out victorious in a few hard-fought battles. Crimson Marauders only blemish is to Vermont, not a crime in that. This one will be close but Rhode Island gets the nod in a close one to stay on pace for the East lead.

Nashville/Detroit - Nashville has one of the higher rated teams in the league and will prove to be a bit too much for Detroit to handle as they pull away late.

the Brah/Bowdoin - Brah in a blowout

Manhattan/Reamstown - Manhattan draws another tough matchup this week and Reamstown proves to be too much for the Massacre to handle.

New York/Cleveland - The STrikers find another matchup that falls in their favor and pick up a key win to stay in the hunt in the east.

Destin/Highwaymen - over/under is 203 - place your bets

Montana/Georgia - The Grizz keep Georgia's losing streak intact.

And now the west

Waller/Las Vegas - It's just a matter of time before Vegas gets on a winning streak, but it has to wait at least one more game as Waller has too much depth to drop this one.

Phoenix/LA Sharks - Again the Sharks play a tough game to the bitter end, but again I think they fall just a hair short.

Florida/Austin - this one is the game of the week in the west. Florida is on a role and Austin is one of the pre-season favorites based on huge improvements they made to their lineup. In some ways Austin has perhaps the strongest lineup in the league and just needs to put it all together, but I'll take Florida in a tight tilt. No reason here other than Florida, since they beat the Waller's a couple times last season are one of those teams that can beat anyone in this division on any given cliche..er Sunday

Putman/Crunches - One team has given up this year. The other team is the Keg tossers.

Lima/Greenbay - the lemurs are too much to handle for Green Bay in a big victory.

Seattle/Orlando - The Cru are ranked slightly lower, but their outstanding dee keeps them in this one long enough to steal the victory late.

Tucson/Indiana - Another loopsided game on this weeks schedule as Tucson picks up a much-needed 'W'.

Shriners/Oakland - another game with evenly matched teams. Game planning will be the key to victory in this one and I can tell you from well-placed sources that the
Shriners game-planning has been the shits this season. I won't predict my own games but I will say this one gets honourable mention for west game of the week.

Talk amongst yourselves.

The good news is that Georgia is now under new ownership! Let the turnaround begin!

Sharks are gonna give it their best shot - we've finally found some rhythm in our passing game, and our rushing continues to help manage the clock, but we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot with a defense that tends to give up a long score in each game. Those have been back breakers for us - we play most teams pretty close, but we gotta be able to contain an offense for all four quarters.

damn this game has a little hype. I hope it's a close one lol. The outlaws have a team packed with high leveled guys. We seem to be a tad over matched but that hasn't stopped us before. This is going to be a good game...We are pretty excited.

You guys played us in a close game last season and ended up pulling it out by 3 points. I hope it's another good game like last year's. Blowouts (on either end) are pretty boring to watch.

It was a good game today! Started out with three missed tackles for a TD, but after your guy downed the ball at the 1.5 yard line - we killed a ton of time and still scored a TD. I think that tired out your Defense and we some how over came diversity to win a big game; that we needed.

UPDATED TO ADD: Looks like Coach beat me to posting a message by THAT much...

Last years game was definitely entertaining and (though I'm sure that you're nowhere near as thrilled with the outcome of today's game) today's was at least as good, if not better - Sharks pull the upset 35-24!

My pick for turning point of the game:

Early in the second quarter, the Phoenix punter buried the Sharks with a fantastic kick downed at the Sharks' 1.5 yard line:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=93252&pbp_id=2889994

cue dramatic militaristic music
What happened next will go down as a drive for the ages... QB BMF Coe led the Sharks on a clock killing, ninety eight yard drive. LA kept the ball for nearly ten minutes and capped it off with a touchdown. Coe would go on to record his best day ever - 44 for 59 passing, with 1 INT and 2 TDs.

Much respect to the Elves for their great season record, their improvements over last year, and a hard fought game today! We hope to bring our losing season around and see you guys in the playoffs.
