Are they following the trend of gutted teams?

That's too bad, because they obviously had some decent pieces there. Either the builds were questionable or their gameplanning was questionable, but I certainly felt they had one of the better bottom tier teams in the league that was capable of pulling off an upset at any time.

Christ, is there any team in the west that isn't being gutted. What is going on?

We never were technically gutted... we just couldn't re-sign anyone, and then once we could people kept bailing.

Same thing happened to Waco basically. Wouldn't say it was gutted since nobody was cut.

Why then doesn't anybody want to stay on those teams? Bad management? Greedy players? Something else?

I think 2-3 years may be the shelf life of teams that are trying to get over the hump. If they dont make it, players get frustrated and want to go elsewhere to win.

I'm always nervous about losing players... it's really a win it all or bust environment. I've got a great group of guys that don't think that way, most of my losses are guys going to their own teams or friends teams, and we make the best out of it for both parties and usually stay in touch.

Frankly, the only reasons the LumberJacks have been able to stay together are the "Free Stripper and Cocaine" Mondays. After every win, Big sponsors this day of rest and relaxation for the whole team. The way he sees it, not only is he raising team morale, but also supporting the local Austin Black Market Economy as well.
The women are beautiful in Texas, and seeing as we've now won 20-some-odd in a row, you could say the economy isn't the only local thing we've successfuly bolstered as of late.
Maybe I don't speak for all, but I do know of a certain CB and WR who would be long gone by now without this weekly tradition.

My players show up drunk to way too many team functions... surprised it doesn't push away players. WVU Parties >>> All.
