Week 5 - Eastern Europe AA#4 Power Rankings *Official*

Ok sports fans, it's time to re-kindle the love affair of all things numbers and rankings. This weeks rankings are brought to you by Pepto-Bismal, the official sponsor of both Longreach and The Sydney Tire Irons.

Moontayles disclaimer:
None of these rankings are done by 'feel' or 'intuition'. I use straight up math and when Excel is done sorting them, that's how I rank them. It's as fair as I can mathematically make it (except in the case of LBT, where i just input any numbers that look good and make their ranking go up). If you have any questions or comments feel free to mail me.

So, without further adieu, here are your week 5 OFFICIAL Eastern Europe AA#4 power rankings.

Power Rankings:

1) Krakow Cows (5-0) Last Week (LW) - UC (33.56)
Krakow stays atop the standings this week with a convincing win over Warsaw. Led by their newly acquired RB, and league leading rusher, Kenton Addai, one has to wonder if the Cows can be stopped this season. As they progress into the toughest part of their schedule, we'll begin to see if Krakow can keep up this torrid pace.
Last Game at Warsaw Cossacks, W 42-3
Next Game at Leicester Lynxes

2) St. Petersburg Storm (5-0) LW - UC (32.95)
At the start of the season, I would have picked LHH as the odds on favorite to represent lulzeta in the championship. However, St. Pete is making a believer out of me. After a close win vs Prague in game 1, they have reeled off 208 points in 4 games and are looking extremely dominant. With a very balanced schedule this season, St. Pete is a sure lock for the playoffs, and perhaps, farther.
Last Game vs. The Look, W 42-31
Next Game at Carluke

3) London Head Hunters (5-0) LW - #4 (25.22)
London moves up one spot this week, into the 3 hole. Sporting a relatively easy schedule over the first 4 weeks, they answered the call this week en route to a surprisingly easy win at Hat Creek. One of the most balanced teams all the way around, London has a very balanced schedule heading towards the mid season point, which will serve them well heading into the playoffs.
Last Game at Hat Creek, W 35-13
Next Game vs. Longreach

4) Moscow Vandals (5-0) LW - #6 (24.52)
Moscow moves up 2 spots this week with a very good win at NISSA. Their first test of this season has been passed with flying colors and once past Chernobyl, will get a chance to knock off Krakow at the Milking Parlour..
Last Game at NISSA, W 34-20
Next Game vs. Chernobyl

5) International Players (5-0) LW - #7 (21.58)
Quick to point out they shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, they surely are a surprise to be this high, this early in the season. The Players have cruised through their first 5 games, with an average MoV of 31 points per game. However, we are going to see what International is made off, and if they can answer the critics, as they get ready to embark on a stretch of schedule that sees them playing a top Alpha team, every other week.
Last Game at London, W 42-3
Next Game vs. Athens

6) Fehervar Entrhoners (4-1) LW - #13 (11.73)
Fehervar makes the biggest bump up this week, from 13 to 6 in the rankings. With their loss to Tallaght dropping off their last 4 and impressive wins against some very good Alpha teams, including 2 shutouts, have propped them up into the top 10. They look to be a good team this year, after narrowly missing the playoffs last season. Things do not get easier for Feheravar though, with 4 of Alpha's top teams in their next 5 games.
Last Game at Athens, W 34-14
Next Game vs. NISSA

7) The Look (4-1) LW - #3 (11.54)
With a win over C-Town, the Look was feeling confident going into it's game against St. Pete this week. However, St. Pete pulled out all the stops and showed Zeta why they might be considered the top team at this point. Not to be dismayed, The Look is preparing to take out their angst against a very solid ballclub in Volgograd this week. Look for them to bounce back.
Last Game at St. Petersburg, L 32-41
Next Game vs. Volgograd

8) Moscow Bears (4-1) LW - #14 (10.43)
The "Other" team in Moscow moves up into the top 10 this week, as their early season loss at the hands of the omnipotent Tigers falls off. With 2 close wins in the past 4 games, one has to wonder how long the Bears will be here. However, with 18 GM's, I can't see them ever missing anything when it comes to planning and preparation. They are here, and thus far, they deserve it.
Last Game at Florids, W 56-10
Next Game vs. London Dolphins

9) C-Town Hoodlums (4-1) LW - #10 (9.36)
Admittedly, I don't know a lot about C-Town. But with their only loss coming at the hands of another top 10 team, and only by 4 points, I think this team is for real. However, they embark on a 4 game set that sees them playing Sydney, at St. Pete, Volg and Subotica. This stretch should give us a good indication if they are for real and ready to make a serious playoff run.
Last Game vs. Carluke, W 37-14
Next Game vs. Sydney Giant Killers

10) Lowell Bengal Tigers (4-1) LW - #9 (8.07)
Rounding out the top 10 this week, and dropping one spot, is the LBT crew. With their best win of the season falling off, their ranking went down. Lowell, in experimental mode still, showed the vaunted defense this week that led them to a 15-1 record last season and the only team to beat the eventual champions, Minsk (ha cows, you can't say that!). In order to make the playoffs again, LBT is going to have to handle business over the next 5 weeks, before they embark on a 6 game series to end the season, against Alpha's finest, and one of Zeta's best.
Last Game at Charleston, W 34-0
Next Game vs Florida

Patron Silver
11) Longreach Wildcats
12) Volgograd Berserks
13) Nissa Dauphins
14) Haguenau Coyots
15) Warsaw Cossacks
16) Hat Creek Cattle Company
17) Chernobyl Radionuclides
18) Tallaght Outlaws
19) Leicester Lynxes
20) Prague Panthers

Cuervo Gold
21) Sydney Tire Irons
22) Carluke Cobras
23) Athens Aggies
24) Subotica Scorpions
25) Sparta Spartans

Last weeks Tequila, still in your stomach
26) Charleston Roadwarriors
27) Transylvania Bats
28) Florida Buccaneers
29) London Dolphins
30) Orange Blood Nation
31) Piortreks Fantasy
32) Chernobyl Meltdowns

WEEK 6 GAME OF THE WEEK
My spotlight game this week is the C-Town Hoodlums at home versus the Sydney Tire Irons. There are a lot of implications for such an early season game. Sydney is hyped coming off a win against Longreach, while C-Town is out to prove they belong in the top 10 teams in AA#4. This, by all rights, should be a heck of a football game.

Alpha - 6
Zeta - 4
So of course, as always, LOL@Zeta

edit: Added the actual ranking number this week, for the top 10 teams, so people could get an idea of where they stand.

There were some big swings, mainly due to the first games falling off and these last games taking their place.

London is just a force in Zeta. Our secondary just was completely outmatched.

Good game London.

Pepto-bismal eh? Was that game REALLY that hard to stomach? INTERCEPTION = TSN turning point!

Let's do it C-Town. You know when I'm down to my business socks what time it is. It's business time.

long as C-Town stands for cleveland, i'm pulling for you guys, since i live just outside of cleveland. the players will have their first real test of the season next game against the Aggies, and since i'm from oklahoma, it's kinda a rivalry game for me.

Blowouts don't destroy energy anymore - it's a new change this season.

Wasn't it changed back as some people complained about missing out on XP? I could be wrong though.

It wasn't as-of game before last. We weren't drained at all in the 98-7 win over Piotrek's Fantasy.

I don't get why the Meltdowns are higher? Obviously our curse is working to perfection making us one of the most dangerous teams in all of GLB! So far our curse is perfect this season!
