From the Desk of General Barber;
Operation Zeta is a go as of 02 August 2008, 1500 hrs.We met the enemy(Rockhampton) and sent them packing with high Raider casualties. We then rolled through Perth with only minor resistance but they ambushed us (Fiji) on the way home and almost got us. One of the men was wounded in that action and hasn't been the same since, he might have to be classified as a section 8 and given a Big Chicken Dinner (BCD). We gathered our forces and continued the action in Wollongong and met no resistance there whatsoever. The men have had time for some RnR and are ready to defend the base against any incoming enemy attacks (Brisbane).
I'm writing this to inform the community of Oceania AA4 to stay out of the Gunners way, we're out to squash any enemy resistance and will use any means neccesary to do so. The campaign to pacify Zeta and ultimately AA4 is underway and now that we understand the rules of engagement as set down by the Secdef Bort, it's best to stay indoors and safely away from the action.

Foxes are sly little devils. We're not looking for #1, we're looking for anything #4 and above..

Notes from the front- 8-10-2008

In a daring daylight raid on the base, the Fins who had a successful incursion against us last time we battled, attacked in force. This time the weapons master wasn't drunk while on duty and we were successful at repelling the assault. Some of the new men, those not already accustomed to the strenous nature of the attacks, had trouble adjusting and with shaking hands, kept dropping the ammunition given to them. Still, a good action overall, with high casualty rates for the enemy. No rest for the weary though as we start our march towards Redcliffe in the morning, wherever that god forsaken territory is. No matter, we'll fight them on the beaches, in the jungles, by air or by ground. This campaign is ours to win or lose, by our acts and deeds alone and nothing can stop us. The enemy camps are on fire, aware of our movements and they will stop at nothing to halt our advances. Keep faith men, for we shall be victorious.

Notes from the front- 8-16-2008
It's been a busy time for the regiment, especially at Eisenhower base. The boys performed perfectly in Redcliffe, bombing those bastards into oblivion. Hugh, Zayn and Cinco almost singlehandedly won us that action. The men deserved some RnR after that but the Lions and Wallabies were coming to Guadalcanal so all day passes were canceled. That didn't go over well.
We expected the Lions, but we weren't ready for the ferocity that they came at us with. They kept swarming and swarming and we did all that we could to not be overwhelmed. Hugh, Cinco, Vega, and Santana all took hits but were able to come back and lead us to victory. The base was in shambles but we had survived to fight again.
The second wave, the Wallabies, came in two days later while we were still reorganizing the base. The scuttlebutt was they were tough SOB's that had a hating for the Gunners. Truth was, we flushed out those rodents without a single casualty. Evan Longman, a private always in the shadows of Vega and Santana, stepped up and showed the team that he too knows how to blow some people away. The extended action has worn some of the men out and after we get back from Devonport and deal with those Devils, I plan on giving everyone the rest they need and deserve.

General JB

The unsung heroes are many, and though your name doesn't get called much, I know how hard you serve: Brittany Daniels, Big JO, Rocco, Cookie, Carter, Hondo, Penalty, Rattle, Bristol, D Walker, and Cody on Offense. Our Base wouldn't be secure without the stellar defense, Secdef Bort makes your guys jobs harder but you still make it happen.

personal note: I use the photos light heartedly but respect the courage and sacrifice of everyone in our armed forces. The Guadalcanal Gunners are named after the brave souls (Army, Navy, Marines) that fought in WW2 and turned the tide of that conflict on guts and determination alone. If anyone hasn't seen the series "Battle 360" they should and see how incredible the aircraft carrier Enterprise fought the Japanese, sometimes without backup.

As the Gunners march towards the capitol, the road is cleared of welphing Devil dogs sent scurrying back to the woods and paved with cobblestones with the stunned faces of their enemies imprinted into them. Built with the bounty claimed from last season, they are claiming no prisoners, the Gunners only leave behind those that were conquered and submitted under their might. Will none be able to stop this wrecking machine on their quest???
