Theres a couple really good games this week that promise to be exciting, hopefully I will get it right.
Mentone Beach Assault vs. Barbarian Horde -G.O.T.W.
This is my pick for game of the week. 2 of the very best team in the West go head to head in a game that could have serious playoff implications later in the season. Hordes always been one of the best teams with a solid running game and a stingy defense. Last years best pass defense goes up against the Wests leading passing offense. Mentone has upgraded their team considerably since season 2, and have gotten steadily better. They took down the Bugs in week 2 and proved they were for real this season. I see this beign a very close game but I think Mentone finally arrives today and proves their a force to be reckoned with.
27-24
Austin Beavers vs. Brooklyn Beastmen
Austins a team thats trying to get better so they can challenge for a playoff spot in the West. I picked them last week to take down the Isotopes but they lost and look to take out some fo their frustrations on the Beastmen. Brooklyn is a team thats just biding their time right now trying to find their way but wont be much of a challenge for alot of the team here yet. Austin takes this one convincingly.
45-17
San Diego Demolition vs. Death Valley Grave Diggers
My own game, if someone wants to do a prediction here, feel free.
Oklahoma City Strikers vs. Big Bear Avalanche
Oklahoma is a solid team in the West who has faultered a bit along the way. They had the toughest first 3 games anyone could ask for and its no suprise they come out of it 0-3. They get on track today against the Avalanche who are also 0-3 and trying to find their spot in A6. They dont find it this week cuz Oklahoma gets on the winning path.
47-3
Hellas Longhorns vs. Lake Placid Predators
Another battle between two 0-3 teams who both have had pretty difficult starts to their season 4 schedule. Lake Placid got beat up by some of the stronger teams they faced but they still have enough moxy to take it to Hellas who is going to find it hard to win a game against most of the Wests competitors. Lake Placid gets their first win today before having to face another tough team in the Demolition.
34-10
Denver Shockers vs. Cleveland Elves
Two teams here that will be fighting to stay out of the middle of the pack. Denver has a good team and they can definately do some damage with solid coaching and gameplanning. Cleveland has a good team too but seems to underachieve but both of these teams could make the playoffs. I give the edge to Denver in this one for more consistency and a better plan.
37-17
Chicago Hedgehogs vs. Tana River Ewoks
This is 1 of 3 awesome matchups we have this week. Tana River is a solid team thats looking to start making its mark on A6 but Chicago is one of the strongest teams in the West from last season and have seemingly gotten even better. While Tana is a good team they wont be able to hold Chicagos offense for 4 quarters.
51-26
Huskers Illustrated Bugeaters vs. Albuquerque Isotopes
Also a pretty good matchup on the day. Huskers are a solid team sitting at 2-1 after a tough loss to Mentone who is obviously here to do damage. The Isotopes are pretty good as well but just dont have the firepower to rock with the Wests best. Huskers get the edge because of a solid offense and strong enough D to put the cap on the Iso passing game. Look for the Bugs to take this one convincingly and improve their record to 3-1.
