Week 1: 7-1
Week 2: 8-0
Week 3: 7-1
Season: 22-2
Game of the Week
Marseille Argonauts at KK Fu Rabid Mutineers
Very very good matchup here. Two undefeated teams with outstanding offense. All of the makings of a true thriller. IKK might have a very slight schedule advantage..... but not by much of anything.
I do think IKK will win this, but I definitely don't think it will be because of a schedule advantage. I just think they are the better team for now--at this early point in the season.
Bow Street Runners at South Yorkshire Stars
Bow Street has let me down lately in their late-game. It that isn't addressed.... the SoYo double threat will run wild. Considering I owe them a punishment, SoYo gets the nod.
Reykjavík Lazytowners at Belfast Commandos
There's nothing about this match that points to the slightest chance of a Lazytowner victory. Sorry. But it's true.
Belgian Beers at Lyon Breakers
should be another one to be much better than some might think. Beers are the "favorite" in this one, but Lyon is proving themselves this year. I went with my gut last week calling for their "upset", and I am sticking with that same feeling this week.
Southriding Sting Rays at Snuggles Vikings
If not for the 1v2 match up top, this would easily be GotW. Both teams have looked very strong this season thus far, each dropping only one game--both to SoYo. Most things considered, a team comprised predominantly of one agent has a slight advantage over more--hmm--"traditional--teams. And with the obvious tactical uniformity, I will give the edge to the Vikes. But it should/could be a damn good game!
Cork City Wildcats at Glasgow Lions
Glasgow is out to prove their wins are the norm--not an anomaly. CCW is fighting to get to .500. This is another one that could be a damn good game. But the thing with football is that you have to go with who's hot. And right now, Glasgow is proving themselves a bit more so than CCW are establishing their presence. So I have to go with Glasgow, though I am looking for the CCw wins to start coming in any time...
Sweden Army at Port St Lucie Knuckle Dusters
This one could be quite unpredictable, as well. But since when has that stopped me form giving it a shot? Never. So with this one, I am actually going to go with the Army. Remember what i said a few weeks back... logo vs. no logo? Easy choice.
Spaniard Warriors at Belgrade Bulldogs
this one could get ugly fast. . And it likely will. Belgrade just seems to be getting off to a slow start. They still have a chance to keep it going, but I just don't see this week's game is being a positive facet of that plan for them.
