i really don't understand the numbers.

for my team, am I really 30th ranked in passing D? and then 21st ranked in rush D? How does that make me 7th rank overall?

Heh, check this out. Supposedly we're ranked 2nd in pass defense & 3rd in Run defense....

...but 13th in "overall" defense?

Maybe we're 13th overall because we're not defending those mysterious "other" plays, that ain't a pass, nor a run very well. Damned hermaphrodites!

I PM'd the guy who made it so maybe we can figure out why the numbers aren't adding up right. You guys are right they don't make sense.

Yeah, some seem a bit off, but they're very interesting I have to say.

We will see if another weeks stats give a clearer picture.

New Rankings up.

Here is the explanation from the creator of the spreadsheet as to why the numbers don't make sense,

"Currently the formula for overall rank is predicted yards allowed/predicted points allowed, kind of a defensive efficiency if you will. Where as the Pass and Rush rankings are just predicted yards. I am unsure of which is a better way to do things at the moment and like everything else will be tweaking it as I go with the feedback I get."

Hope that helps and maybe we will be getting a better solution later this season to give a more true ranking.

ummmms How the Fuck can a 4-1 team be ranked higher then 5-0 team and a 2-3 team above a 4-1 teams.....

I dunno. Maybe its based on Yardage?

Its not really based on Record though.. If it were, it'd be stupid to have as we can just look at the Conference standings (No stats though, Obviously). The rankings are pretty much just right though, for the most part.

It's still really too early to start to look at serious rankings. Until it gets around week 10 or so it'll all stay pretty jumbled up.

It is based on the yardage predicted you would gain and allow if you played all the other 31 teams in the league.
