Week 4 - Eastern Europe AA#4 Power Rankings *Official*

Ok sports fans, it's time to re-kindle the love affair of all things numbers and rankings. This weeks rankings are brought to you by Advil, little, yellow, different, Advil and by Salada Green Tea, the hang-over remedy for the 21st century. Sense a pattern with our sponsors?

Disclaimer:
None of these rankings are done by 'feel' or 'intuition'. I use straight up math and when Excel is done sorting them, that's how I rank them. It's as fair as I can mathematically make it (except in the case of LBT, where i just input any numbers that look good and make their ranking go up). If you have any questions or comments feel free to mail me.

So, without further adieu, here are your week 4 OFFICIAL Eastern Europe AA#4 power rankings.

Power Rankings:

1) Krakow Cows (4-0) Last Week (LW) -
Due to their departure from the playoffs, at the hands of their arch rival, Minsk, Krakow got busy this offseason acquiring all their highest level players from other leagues. Sporting the highest average level in EEAA4 this season, and a team that knows how to prepare and plan, Krakow is the hands down favorite to win the title. So far, they haven't disappointed.
Last Game vs. Cherynobyl's 8th grade team, 125-0 W
Next Game at Warsaw Cossacks

2) St. Petersburg Storm (4-0) LW -
What was arguably the best defense in Zeta last season, has now added some offensive punch and are looking to make some serious noise this season. As a whole, and thanks to St. Pete (as well as a couple other teams), Zeta has now moved up from the cup-cake league, to just the cake league. They keep this up, they might get Pie status soon. But in seriousness, St. Pete is for real. A solid defense, with what's turning into a potent offense. Their staking claim for the favorite spot in Zeta. This next game will be their first true test of the season.
Last Game at Piotreks Fantasy, W 98-7
Next Game vs. The Look

3) The Look (4-0) LW -
The Look is one of 2 Zeta teams surprising people a little bit, and coming out of the box strong this season. Averaging over 30pts a game so far this season, they are showing both conferences that they are not to be taken lightly. With a great win over previous undefeated C-Town this past week, they look to their next match-up to be their biggest test of the season so far. And although 3rd in the rankings, they have to be considered the under-dog against a very proven St. Petersburg team.
Last Game vs. C-Town Hoodlums, W 31-27
Next Game at St. Petersburg Storm

4) London Head Hunters (4-0) LW -
No surprise here. London has been a solid team for the past 2 seasons and nothing has changed much this season. Not a team that makes a lot of noise, they just go out each week and get the job done on the field. Thus far, their schedule has been relatively easy, however that changes this week with a good test against Hat Creek, Zeta's Giant killers from last season. But, by the end of the day, look for them to be 5-0 and cruising towards the playoffs.
Last Game vs. Transylvania bats, W 41-6
Next Game at Hat Creek

5) Longreach Wildcats (4-0) LW -
The true surprise team from Zeta this season has been Longreach. With a revamped offense, and a new team logo, they have come out of the gate storming in route to a 4-0 record. With wins over Subotica, Orange Blood and Transylvania, one had to question whether or not they belonged in the top 10. However, a win at home against Hat Creek has shown that they can beat the upper tier teams. That all being said, one still has to wonder, "Where the hell is Longreach? Is it even a city?"
Last Game vs. Hat Creek Cattle, W 24-14
Next Game at Sydney

6) Moscow Vandals (4-0) LW -
Moscow started coming into their own towards the middle of last season, on their way to making a playoff appearance. Make no mistake, these guys can play football. At this point, one has to wonder about their schedule thus far, and if that's a factor in them being ranked this high, this early. 5 out of their next 7 games will give us the answers to that question.
Last Game vs. Athens, W 20-7
Next Game at NISSA

7) International Players (4-0) LW -
Another surprise team this season in AA4, International has come out strong and posted 4 easy wins to start the season. Much like Idaho, most of AA4 will wonder if International can stay in the top 10. They still face a long road, but have done a lot so far to earn this spot.
Last Game vs. Florida, W 52-23
Next Game at London Dolphins

8) Nissa Dauphins (3-1) LW -
If Krakow and LHH are the biggest known quantities in AA4, NISSA has to be the biggest Enigma. This team, who one season ago had some of the highest level players in AA4, just is too difficult to read. This start for them could be a glimpse of a team really hitting it's stride. With 2 convincing wins against Warsaw and Leicester, they could be for real. Then again, with a big loss to Krakow, and a stretch of 5 games where they face Alpha's finest, they could turn and go the other direction. It's a tough call, but if they can get through their next 5 with 3-2 or better, they'll be poised to make a serious playoff run.
Last Game at. Leicester, W 49-13
Next Game vs. Moscow Vandals

9) Lowell Bengal Tigers (3-1) LW -
What to say about the best looking coaching staff in AA4? LBT started off with a relatively easy win vs. Moscow, then turned around and blew a tight game to Warsaw. Since then, they've held their last 2 opponents to 4 FG's total on their way to cruise control wins, and their first appearance in the top 10 this season. With the first loss out of the way, and the monkey off their back (no repeats of last season), LBT is looking to take advantage of the next few games and continue to be the dominant team from last season.
Last Game vs. Tallaght, W 30-6
Next Game at Charleston

10) C-Town Hoodlums(3-1) LW -
Rounding out AA4's first official power ranking of the season is the C-Town Hoodlums. A bit of an unknown quantity, C-Town has started off very well this season, pulling out 1 quality win against Haguenau, and losing in a very close game to The Look. Their mid season schedule looks to be fairly easy, with St. Pete in week 7 being the exception. They will end tough though, with 2 of their last 4 games against playoff hopeful teams. C-Town needs to keep on winning over the next 7 to give themselves a good shot at the playoffs in Zeta.
Last Game at The Look, L 27-31
Next Game vs. Carluke Cobras

Premium Imports
11) Hat Creek Cattle Company
12)Warsaw Cossacks
13) Fehervar Enthroners
14) Moscow Bears
15) Athens Aggies
16) Haguenau Coyotes
17) Volgograd Berserks
18) Carluke Cobras
19) Tallaght Outlaws
20) Leicester Lynxes

American mid-sized sedans
21) Sydney Tire Irons
22) Prague Panthers
23) Chernobyl Radionuclides
24) Subotica Scorpions
25) Charleston Roadwarrios

American truck/SUV market
26) Sparta Spartans
27) Flordia Buccaneers
28) Translvania Bats
29) Orange Blood Nation
30) London Dolphins
31) Piortreks Fantasy
32) Chernobyl Meltdowns

Alpha - 5
Zeta - 5
So of course, as always, LOL@Zeta

You know something I find funny, last season when Longreach was the joke of the league, no one from our team came in here saying the reason we lost was because the sim was buggy or it was BS. We took it like a man. Now all of a sudden Longreach is doing decent and we beat a good team, the sim's must be buggy. You got out played and out planned. Simple as that. Stop blaming it on a buggy sim.

We had 2 4th downs converted. 1 from 4 yards out and 1 from 1 yard out. Neither of them are unheard of. YOU on the other hand converted a 4th down from 11 yards out. Which is unusual. You're HB fumbles and it is recovered by us and returned 96 yards for a TD. Must be a bug right? Now it means your HB needs to work on his carrying. Our FS that recovered it has high agility which explains how he slipped through.

You'd be in here bragging your ass off if you won but because you lost, it must be a buggy sim. I looked through the play by play. nothing seemed a little unusual. Take the loss and learn from it. Stop making excuses. I came in here and didn't brag or boast about how we beat you guys. I said good game, and we have another tough one next week.

So I will say it again, good game Hat Creek. You will be back in the top 10 next week. I hope we can pull off another win next week against Sydney.

It should be noted that I found a couple mistakes in the formulas from week2. So i made the corrections, which moved some teams up and down.

Basically, and I can't remember who, but it was 2 alpha teams, they had the wrong teams played, so it threw off SoS and thereby, their rankings.

People gotta vent sometimes, all I have to say on the matter is that FS is fast.

Much like our loss, yea the problems with the sim weren't 100% the reason we lost, I had a hand it as well and we failed to protect the QB. But the frustration took over and we had to let it out, better here than in our own forums.

Now on the other hand, our losses last season to the Cows were all about the damn broken sim, stupid game! *throws keyboard*

It's just frustrating that they're trying to blame the loss on bugs. We played a good game.

Fact of the matter that, in actual football, there are times when unlikely things happen and that influences the outcome of the game. The "best team" doesn't always win and sometimes luck plays a factor. Blame the sim if you want, but it seems like common sense that if you're not good enough to win by 2+ TDs, then there are going to be some games you lose because of unlikely events (4th down conversions, strange TOs, long return TDs, etc.)

I can think of a few examples last season where my team lost on what was almost definitely bad luck more than anything. Just move on and don't worry about it - in the long run you'll get your share of breaks too.

You'll see the Players and LBT jump ahead of that Zeta Riff Raff soon enough.

I'd say the Tigers and Players (with their current line ups) would beat St. Pete and London... and probably give The Look and Longreach a decent kickin! Its week 4 and all about schedule, even with great players, great builds and spot on tactics... I wouldnt be surprised if the Cows lose a game or 2 this season. Alpha >>>> Zeta. lol

just for you RTGC... LMAO @ ZETA

Damn! I was hoping to see the Cossacks in the top ten and now we have Krakow next week so it won't happen for a while!!! And we beat LBT as well.
