Well, we had a very interesting round of games this go around. Transylvania fell this week, and London really opened a can up on Oklahoma to give me my two losses of the week, and I almost had a 3rd but Belfast held on tight to hold on. Here is how I’m doing so far…
Week 1: 7-1
Week 2: 6-2
Week 3: 6-2
Total: 19-5
So here we are, without further ado… your week 4 predictions!!!!
Game of the Week:
Warsaw Knuckleheads (3-0) @ Basin City Blues (2-1)
Basin City is coming off a very tough loss to Belfast in which they blew a fourth quarter lead, and couldn’t turn enough drives into TD’s. They step up to their second straight GOTW, this time against Warsaw club that is lead by the leagues leading rusher, Kal-El Jones. The offense exploded for 87 points last game. BCB is going to have one heck of a time trying to keep the offense in check. Warsaw doesn’t have it easy either, trying to stop Curt Phillips and company in the passing game.
In a “Brett Favre loves the underdog” Special… Basin City wins 27-21.
Belfast Mafia (3-0) @ Wrexham Maelor Brionnfhionn (0-3)
Wrexham heads back home this week, after taking a very tough loss to Dublin. Belfast squeaked one out last week against BCB by 1 and looks to move to 4-0 this week. Wrexham had a really tough time stopping the run last week and I think Belfast is going to look to exploit this. Look for Trent Daniel to have a big game.
Belfast runs away with this one, 38-20.
Grim Reapers (3-0) @ Crimson and Cream Sooner Machine (0-3)
Grim threw up 66 last week on the league rookies and I expect a lot more scoring from them this week, as CCSM gave up 87 last week.
Grim by 50+.
Amsterdam Arctic Blast (3-0) @ Vatra Dornei Wraiths (2-1)
Another good match-up for this week as the Wraiths welcome the Blast to The Barrow. Amsterdam hasn’t truly been tested since Week 1 by Oklahoma, but I expect that to change this week. The Wraith passing attack, led by Chris Roberson, is looking to hand Amsterdam their first loss of the season. The Blast has used a very balanced offense so far to keep teams guessing, and I’m thinking they are going to do a lot more of the same this week.
Amsterdam pulls away in the 4th, winning 31-17.
Dublin Drunken Monkeys (2-1) @ Ithaca Space Munkees (1-2)
It’s a battle for Monkey supremacy as these two clubs go head to head. The D-Monks pulled out a two-headed rushing attack with RB’s Brad Theisen and John Canada to lead the team to a big win over Wrexham. The Space Munks had a very tough second half last week, and not even the heroics of Swankwell Gunslinger could keep them in it. They are looking to get back to .500 this week. After an impressive showing last week in what I thought was going to be a close game…
I’m going with the D-Monks to win the battle of the primates, 35-21.
Transylvania Bloodsuckers (2-1) @ Clydesdale Colts (0-3)
Transylvania is looking for blood this week, after suffering a very tough 1-point loss to the St. Louis Storm. Jason Coker continues to dazzle opposing defenses through the air, and I expect much of the same this week. They play a Clydesdale club that has yet to win in their first season in the league, as QB Yoichi YoichiHiruma looks to battle in this one.
Still, the suckers are just too strong, and win by 35+.
Kilkenny Cannibals (0-3) @ London Brawling Tommies (1-2)
The Tommies put a real beatdown on Oklahoma for their first win of the season, led by RB DJ LoJo’s 149 yard performance. Kilkenny is still looking to crack the win column as QB Meko Fountain looks to get the ball flying through the air after a tough loss to the Arctic Blast. This one is going to come down to whether Fountain can hold onto the football and whether the Tommies ground game proves that last week wasn’t a fluke.
I’m going to go with the Tommies in this one, rushing their way to a 27-17 win.
Oklahoma Outlaws (1-2) @ St. Louis Storm (1-2)
Probably 2 of the best 1-2 teams you’ll ever meet going at it this week, as the Outlaws visit the Storm. The Storm have played a very tough schedule so far and have played every team tough, even coming out with a win last week against Transylvania, slowing down the Suckers passing game. The Outlaws on the other hand are coming off a very tough loss in a game, which they thought they would of kept a lot closer. This game is going to come down who can keep their offense balanced enough to consistently move the ball, as both have showed times where they can, and can’t do so.
Home field advantage pays off in this one as I pick the storm to work back to .500 and pull out a 28-20 victory.
