Not many surprises in Zeta last game (check out Alpha though). This game it's going to be pretty much more of the same as the have's get more and the have nots get kicked in the teeth.

Guadalcanal Gunners at Perth Pirates
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eh6AWAzrRJI&feature=related
Pirates have to fight for their lives against a superior force. Gunners have to keep focused and not let their guard down.

Redcliffe Sharks at WSP
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEUSkipt3lk
WSP are up against the wall and it's just the beginning of the season, another loss and they might be out of the playoff picture. Same goes for the Sharks.

ASRW at Brisbane Troyfins
The Fins offense might keep them in the game but their D is going to let them down against a solid ASRW squad. http://neatorama.cachefly.net/images/2008-02/kangaroo-punch-woman.jpg

Devonport Devils at Rockhampton Raiders
Devonport is hoping to keep on a roll and gain momentum for the tougher middle part of their schedule. Raiders are hoping to start some momentum. Raiders need to improve their offensive lines play before they can compete with the Devils. Devils cart another set of souls back to hades.

El Rancherito Mantas at Lexington Armada
Finally a Manta team that's not a cupcake. The Armada are what the Mantas used to be, a team not even trying.

Budapest Brawlers at Tasmanian Swarm
About time for a name change Budapest. The Swarm are going to keep at you until the clock expires. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIPRyGXI-EA

----------------Games of Interest--------------------------
Dharma Initiative at Hamilton Falcons
Dharma can make a statement by putting last season behind them and one by one picking off the teams that finished above them. Hamilton needs to put a brake to the Initiative's initiative but it's a tougher task than they imagined
Dharma keeps the ball rolling, win by 10

Newcastle Mountain Lions at Fiji Flying Foxes
This is Newcastle's first chance to prove they're for real against a solid but less spectactular than last season Foxes team. The Lion D has always been rock steady but in this game the Offense has to prove it's worth against a very effective unit. Foxes need to hold off the Lions O and find a way to punch a hole in the D. I think someone not named Speedy Wonder will have to find that hole.
Foxes by 10, Sommermayer with 100 yds/1 td.

i predict 11 GMs are a prime example of "too many cooks spoiling the broth." Lions by 14, Vince gets more yards than the Fiji offense combined.

Pirates are gonna come out playing an quite possibly will be drunk by the end. Love the video. I hope we can make it interesting.

HAHA this game is a joke.

400 rushing yards against a goal line defense. not even possible. 36 missed tackles?

What a joke.

Peace out team. how much money can I bring in today?

There were some bizarre plays in your game.

In our game, the other team threw the ball 72 times and only ran it 6. I wonder if he meant to do that, or if it was another AI bug.

Oh no congrats on the win. I just game planned it for you to run a lot and there is just no way a team should be able to bowl over us like you did while we are in a goal line defense. Just doesnt make sense. I ran the numbers for 4 days preparing for this and then 36 missed tackles?! Every one of your long scores we had at least one missed tackle. Our LB with high strength and high tackling and on wrap up missed 4 crucial tackles. It just doesnt make sense.

Oh back to the drawing board to prepare for last year and my attention turns to BDR for the rest of this season.

Does that LB have decent speed / agility / vision / jumping too? Diving tackles are often the ones missed.

Don't forget that broken tackles also count as missed in replays. I broke 33 in that game.

edit:

Did you set your Blitz quite high by chance? I'm wondering ;p

You thought a goal line defense was a good plan against all running plays? You've put your defenders on a line, if the RB breaks through the line they are gone. I can't speak to the missed tackles, but I watched a few of the plays and you basically removed your 11 defenders and tried to stop a running game with 3 or 4 defenders; especially on pitches ... oh you were so toast on pitches.

Yet two games prior the goal line stopped all pitch plays in their tracks.

I dont know what happened to the engine, but it went totally against what happened two games prior.

It should have worked, because X% of the time when a team is in a 2 WR set its a running play and X% of the time a team is in a 3 WR or more set its a passing play. (I know what the X's are but I am obviously not giving that percentage away for free)

Even when in a passing play with the goalline defense I dropped the LOLB to cover the TE and both corners were covering the two WRs. So then a 4-2-5 is ran vs 3 WR sets and everything should have been fine, but like I said something was different between PS2 and RS2.

Whatever it sucks, but this seasons is going to be a lot of fine tuning between games especially til we get the friendlies in. So i ll just run out different scenarios continue to run different ideas. Get my chemistry back and get most the players that I just sold back next season.

So I am willing to give this season away with the AI. Plus I ll have a kick ass stadium.
