Here we go with Week 1 predictions. I値l do the same as bolts and keep track of how I do during the season and we値l see who has the better record at the end.
Game of the Week:
St. Louis Storm at Warsaw Knuckleheads
The only battle in week 1 that involves a couple of playoff teams from last season, both teams are looking to get a good start toward repeating that success. It also is a game between two very conflicting styles of offense, and what is most likely going to determine the outcome of this ballgame. The Warsaw passing game led by QB Ricky Hurle, and the Storm ground attack with main man RB Jerry Applewhite leading the way.
I think in the end, Applewhite is going to have the better day, but with a very strong offensive line, Warsaw will get a running game going to compliment is passing, and pull out the win, 27-21.
Wrexham Maelor Brionnfhionn at Ithaca Space Monkees
Another game, which is going to be right down to the wire. Wrexham and Ithaca are both coming off disappointing season and are looking to rebound by starting the season off right. I could spit out players names until I知 blue in the face, but I firmly believe this one is going to come down to coaching and who comes up with the best game plan. Given that they were a little more successful last season, I知 going to have to lean toward Wrexham in this one.
Wrexham will go home with a 20-17 win.
Clydesdale Colts at Belfast Mafia
The Mafia get the honor of welcoming the fresh blood into the league, and are not going to make it warm welcome. Belfast has just too many weapons and is too talented for the Colts, and will roll in this one.
I知 putting the Mafia at 28-point favorites.
Oklahoma Outlaws at Amsterdam Arctic Blast
With an up and coming team, the Outlaws are going to keep this game a lot closer than most people think. I can defiantly see this game being a barnburner for the Blast. In the end however I think that the stout Arctic Blast D is going to be just too much for the Outlaws, especially the secondary once they get behind.
Blast wins this one, 31-21.
Kilkenny Cannibals at Transylvania Bloodsuckers
Kilkenny proved last season it could give the big boys a run for their money, but my money is on that Transylvania Air Assault and QB Jason Coker. They proved last year how hard it was to stop them, and I expect them to be doing a lot of the same this year.
Coker and Co. pull out a 38-20 victory.
Basin City Blues at Vatra Dornei Wraiths
I think this game is one BCB should not overlook. The Wraiths have a good squad and are playing in front of the home crowd this week and will be looking for blood. With that said, VD is going to have to ride Jackson Hail in this one and keep the ball out of the Blues hands if they are going to want a shot in this one. If not it is possible for the Blues to run away with this one. I知 not sure they can do that, but we値l see.
I知 picking a Blues victory 21-13.
Crimson and Cream Sooner Machine at Dublin Drunken Monkeys
CCSM is just plain over matched in this game and will have its hands full trying to stop the ground attack of Dublin led by RB Brad Theisen. There really is not a whole lot going on with this game.
Dublin is a 28-point favorite.
London Brawling Tommies at Grim Reapers
The boys over in Grim are looking to unveil their new roster and start the season off with a bang, and have the boys from London as their first test. The London coaches are known to get a little extra out of their players when they face a good squad and I see this game being no different. In the end though, the new talent brought in by the Reapers will be able to at least get a start on backing up their claim to be the best in the league.
Grim pulls out a very hard fought 34-21 win.
