I thought I would get an early start this season on the awards that will be handed out at the conclussion of the season. Good news: all the trophies have improved 10 fold over last season. Once again we will have positional awards.

League MVP
Stadium of the Year
Offensively: C, FB, G, HB, OT, QB, TE, WR
Defensively: CB, DE, DT, FS, LB, SS
Special Teams: K, P, ST
Coaching: Coach of the Year, OC, DC, ST Coach

New this year: Special Teams Coach and Stadium of the year! I'll leave this one up to the voters to decide on whether its based on attendance, toughest place to play, stadium size, etc. Whatever you feel compelled to vote on for the stadium, do so. I will be modifying the trophies in the next few weeks to get them customized for our leaguea and season; as well as getting them adjusted so that they can be viewed better in the 75x75 avatar photo. I am hoping to be able to get them all modified so that they can be usable as avatars for the winners (I realized too far into the season last year that some of the trophies didn't adjust properly to the sizing).

Again, every trophy has been updated/changed: I spoke with the "league commissioner" and he agreed that more impressive trophies were needed, so I searched high and low and found the best of the best for Oceania AA #1. You will not be disappointed.

As for how you vote for positions...that is up for each individual to decide: whether you go by stats, plays, populatiry, etc. Just like in RL each fan votes for their players differently. So lets avoid getting into that argument again in the discussions.

I will open up a voting thread later in the season (probably close to week 11 or 12) with the voting rules, cut-off date, and cut-off time again. Once more I ask that we keep the discussions in this discussions thread and try to prevent it from spilling over into the future voting thread. Last season we had a total of 12 people cast ballots: I know we have more than that posting/active with teams and players in this league, so lets get the word out to everyone in Oceania AA #1 to vote when the time comes. Its not difficult or time consuming to vote towards the end of the season and everyone can do it (yeah, thats sounds a little cliche'...but oh well).

Its early: the season has not even reached the regular season yet, and there are tons of players looking to make a name for themselves and others hoping to live up to expectations. So, lets have a great season 4! And, best of luck to everyone!

It sounds good TallyDawg. Great job man. There is no need to vote, because the Guam Tigers should and will win every award. Just put the name Guam Tigers on every trophy and the players from Guam on the trophies. Guam has the Best stadium, fans, Coaches, players and everything. Guam even has better looking cheerleaders then the rest of the teams in Oceania AA #1. Thanks again .

I vote for all the awards to go to GUAM TIGERS also. Really this thread should just be renamed to Guam Tigers Awards.

I like the Sound of that Guam Tigers award.

I vote on that name. So we have one vote.

Something I thought of last year but too late in the game would be to do the positional player listings a little different. Rather than have a "MVP" of every position, why don't we have an All-Pro/Pro Bowl/All Star team? For instance, instead of having one OT, OG, DE, CB, WR, LB, and any other position I might have forgotten off the top of my head - we should have two (or three) of everything. Then an Oceana AA#1 All-Pro ballot would look as follows:

QB
RB
FB
WR
WR
OT
OG
C
OG
OT
TE

DE
DT
NT
DE
OLB
MLB
OLB
CB
CB
FS
SS

The MVP, and coaches of the year awards would stay the same, but I think this is a little more natural sounding to say SoandSo is an All-Pro cornerback than saying SoandSo is MVP of the cornerbacks.

Just my .02, take it for what it's worth.

Ok...got the formatting and modifications out of the way. All that remains is the engraving of the winners names once again.

As for some samples of the awards...I am going to wait until the winners are announced to post teh MVP and Stadium awards. As for the samples, here you go:

Cornerback - http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn90/TallyDawg1/Cornerback.jpg
Free Safety - http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn90/TallyDawg1/FreeSafety.jpg
Fullback - http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn90/TallyDawg1/FullBack.jpg
Linebacker - http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn90/TallyDawg1/LineBacker.jpg
Quarterback - http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn90/TallyDawg1/Quarterback.jpg
Center - http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn90/TallyDawg1/Center.jpg

As i mentioned earlier, there are numerous awards and differing from last year, the offense and defensive positions (particularly on the line) have differing awards.

And just for you Reggie, I present to you, the Guam Tiger Award:

Shaffe,
Yeah, I didn't like the MVP on all the trophies, so I dropped it off all the trophies with the exception of the league MVP award for this season. It may be difficult to pin point people by left, right, and middle linebacker, but if everyone feels they would rather have it done like that we can do it that way as well*. As for the other multiple positions, I have no problem doing it that way. The awards can be more of an All-Star/All-Pro vote with the Coaches awards and MVP award mixed into the voting ballot. There is plenty of time to talk about it and hash things out before the voting begins.

Added Edit:
*Its easy to modify the award. I think this may have come across a bit wrong. I meant to say that identifying who played middle/left/right linebacker for voting purposes would take a little extra time. I have no qualms with doing it as it would give us a full all-star/all-pro roster.

You could set it up like how the real NFL is also. Have a Pro-bowl team from each Confernce. It would be like the AFC vs the NFC. Just an idea.

That might be getting a little too watered down, IMO.

This trophy is symbolic on how everyone will be under Guam this year. And what Guam will do to them .

No, it would be easy to set up.

The Alpha Conference would be all of the Guam Tigers coaches and players.

That would just leave you to set up the Zeta Pro-Bowl team.

I have to agree on limiting it to just the Overall League rather than doing an Alpha and a Zeta Conference on the awards.

Would you GUAM stop hijacking every thread with your non sense on GUAM is #1. No one honestly cares, these threads have titles for a reason.

I like the idea of the pro bowl team, but like TallyDawg said not for each conference. Then we might as well give everyone an award : ) ha.
