I don't spend as much time following all of the teams, but it looks like the league had a bit of an overhaul! I see there are a few posts here about this. I don't mean to be repetitive, but anyone want to encapsulate all that happened, other than the "two up, two down"?

I see some gutted teams in Alpha, but Zeta still looks strong (?). Which teams left? Who "gave up"?

To put it into perspective, it looks like both conferences will still have 3-4 "easy" games this coming season.

In Alpha: Dogdandy, Aussie, Green Bay, and Auckland look to be the weakest on paper (in no certain order, Auckland really looks best of the 4).

In Zeta: Westpac, GBR, Saipan, and Jakarta look to be the weakest in conference.

Gutted: Dogdandy, Aussie, Green Bay, and Westpac

Conclusion: Zeta is going to be the meat grinder again.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to the two promoted and two relegated system. I thought we would finally start becoming PRO. I hope this trend starts getting better in the upcoming seasons. Unfortunately, this happens because they keep adding more teams/leagues before taking care of this problem in some fashion. This game is a cash cow right now.

Yeah, more teams means more players created by buying more flex points.

I swore that I was done, but our farm teams couldn't sign anyone decent except inactive slugs (who were available for a reason). Hell, I can have a level 8 by game two (created today). Better than a level 11 with no equipment, lol.

Green Bay used to be the Tasmania Devils. Westpac used to be the Las Vegas Outlaws.

I see there is no change to Emerald City on our schedule this season, got 'em in a pre-season scrimmage.
Of course I don't know how much will be put into these scrimmage games by either side as well as usage of new Off/Def AIs, but it should be a fairly well matched game at least.

Indeed - the schedule simulator seems to like the Incinerator/Flying Monkey matchup. As for the scrimmage games though, I intend to try a few things out involving the new AIs; but I doubt two scrimmage games are going to tell me a whole lot before a relatively difficult first half of the season schedule really puts our new expanded gameplans to the test.

I never thought I'd say this, but I kind of wish the preseason was longer so that we could get a better handle on the new tactics...

I am with ya on that one, I spent more time recruiting and less time on the new advanced tactics. Fortunately, my coordinators are helping there.

The schedule gods love us...

Our two scrimmages are
Brantford
and
Tonga Ikale Tahi

What a way to try out some new things...lol

5 of our first 6 real games are playoff teams. We better figure it all out pretty quickly.

Cant wait for the start.

I feel your pain. We didn't want cupcakes for the scrimmages, but we didn't want elite teams either.

We drew FFLW and Vanuatu . . . two teams who had undefeated regular seasons last year.

Burning Pride is still here, and we're prepped to be right back in the thick of things in the coming season.

Well the scrimmages are going to be a learning curve for us all. I agree, we didnt necessarily want powerhouses, but I guess it will be good to see if our experiments work on good teams or not. Then again if we are all experimenting...how the heck do we know....LOL!

You are just trying to make sure it calls the plays you want it to. The outcome of the plays doesn't matter.
