That is a good list of teams.. I think it is going to be alot harder this year making the playoffs, especially gettin home field...

Just yesterday I watched 2 more teams recruit 20+ players... I think any list put out now, before the recruiting is done will be wanting. I had originally thought we'd have a nice slow build, but... seems like everyone wants to get the big boys up and running right away!

The level 13 cap thing feels pretty pointless now. I was hoping they would implement a sliding scale where this year the cap would be like... 17 or something. So that the real benefit would be keeping guys around.

Agreed, now it's just about who can recruit the biggest players into their team instead of plain game play and good times.

Yeah, I would not of minded seeing a sliding scale like they are talking about now.

The problem for teams is not going to be recruiting higher level players as much as it's going to be affording them. Unless you have really had your ducks in a row on stadium building money gets tight quick when you start looking at lvl 24 Gear and mid 20's salary.

Besides, I speak from personal experience when I say recruiting lvl 20+ is HORRIBLE right now. If you did not make the play off's I have no idea how you will be able to recruit anyone =/

There simply are not enough high level players to go around.

I double checked the league, looks like there are only 2 Alpha teams doing it, and at least 2 Zeta's (did not look over all of Zeta). I also think they're just pulling in either their own or friends talent. Well... to stay competitive we're going to have to start looking for bigger guys as well. Just the way it goes.

I learned that lesson the first season =/ Even with a level cap i was a bit blind-sided.

I personally just went with the idea that if we wanted to be competitive we needed to recruit the best players we could.. we ended up losing quite a few guys, and rather than go out on the market looking for level 16-17 guys, we just recruited the best ones willing to play for us..

You also have to keep in mind that if you are lucky enough to win it all and move up to the next league, you're going to need higher level guys to compete, otherwise you'll be right back here the season after that.. all in all, I think most teams made several changes this year, others did load up on more high level guys (I know we're one of the teams) but it wasn't an attempt to gain an unfair advantage or anything like that.

A sliding scale would be an interesting thing to see, but just like in the capped leagues, you're still going to have people who are 1 night of training away from level 14, and then boosting 3 times at the beginning of the year to become 17's.. it's never going to be totally fair, even though that may be more balanced. And in my experience, it was harder to build a team of level 13 guys than it was level 20 guys, I know last season we had several players in the high teens wanting to join us that we couldn't get because of the cap. I'm fully confident everyone will get around to loading up on players.. the way the leveling system is set up, guys are going to be level 20 or maybe even as high as level 22 after two seasons.. I don't know, this one is a tough call!

I think it's way too early to make a list. Here's what I'll say about it. Teams that have players built to fit their style of play and can effectively use the new tactics to take full advantage of that will be in the playoffs. Competition will just get tighter from here on out, so it's going to be who's smart that does well in the end.

Maybe the biggest stadium wins in the end? I'm overseeing some nice expansion to "The Nest" this off-season. Hope you boys enjoy yourselves when you come visit (and buy lots of beer).

The only level 20 guys we here in Rotterdam were able to get were our own players who's contracts had run out. This was part of our long term plan for the team to begin with, but I completely agree that a sliding cap would have been well worth it.

Thanks for the early props though considering we flew under the radar for almost all of last season. We don't mind sneaking up on people...lol

Unfortunately the best strategy for building a team seems to be 'make friends'. I took over this squad http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=574 last year with 5 games left and they were absolutely horrible. I have managed to build a pretty good team now but that's mainly because I have friends who are playing the game and I convinced them all to sign with me. Otherwise doing a fast build with 20+ guys is near impossible.
