Looks like there was a little embezzlement of funds (over a 600K in bonuses handed out before the sale) and all the current players are free agents in two days... but we're gonna do our best to field a competitive team.

Playoffs might be tough this year, but don't sleep on us too hard!

Good luck to you pmc...its gonna be a tough road, but dont give up, and you'll enjoy the rewards of taking a team from the bottom and building it into a contender...hopefully along the way you'll find some class guys to help you out.

Sucks to hear about the funds...maybe if you PM Bort/Support he can do something to help you guys out

My team, our money. We earned it so I can distribute it how ever the hell I fell. It's not against the rules to give people end of season contracts with more money or bonuses. I told my team weeks in advance that I was going to sell and they all said if that's the case they will leave too, so like a good owner I gave the all end of the season contracts. Don't except mid 20 level guys to stick around after playing for me for two season. Most of these guys will tell you we where a good team and played by the rules. Don't get mad because of the hand you where dealt. What, I'm I supposed to leave millions in the bank for you, when you did nothing to earn it?

Superman has been a class owner all the way. The only thing he i was tell us that the team was being sold (a few weeks ago) and said that if we wanted to leave to let him know so we could get contracts that run out at the end of this season. That way we wouldn't end up in a situation we didn't sign on to be in, or an owner we didn't want to be with.

I can tell you I never got a bonus for equip. Everytime I, and just about anyone else on the team for that matter bought it with money we saved from our season pay. When I got my new contracts that would end with the season, I was getting paid no more than I was during the regular season.

There is no point in going to Bort or anyone else, considering nothing wrong was done.

If he wants to go to Bort let him, nothing wrong was done. All I did was give end of the season contracts and signing bonuses. That's part of the game. When I bought the team I had 500K in the bank, like all other owners here, he was left with more. he will not be in the negative at all. The season ends in two days and no contracts are paid during that time so he has nothing coming out. He could offer big contracts and still not be in the negative because the only thing that will come out of the bank is signing bonuses. We made the playoffs so the season tickets are going to sale. he could keep the stadium as is, bring in 22 level 20's at 2500 to 3000 a day, get ticket sales and start the season with 2.5 to 3 million. I do it every season so I know for a fact is can be done and then he can land bigger FA. It can be done, so instead of complaining I would be using my sales pitch to new FA's.

I never said anything wrong was done, so i hope my post wasnt taken that way...just said maybe if he talked with support they could help him out as far as team funds are concerned. Its been two seasons since i purchased my team, and 600k just looked low to me to start out with. You guys were on the up and up the whole time in the league, and other than a few personal arguments between our teams Superman handled his business properly.... i dont think anyone questions that.

Again, good luck to you guys this season Cleveland

If you think back when you get a new team you have 500K in the bank. Any team owner who remembers will tell you that. So we had 1.2 million in the bank when I decide I didn't wont to be the team owner anymore - this was midway through the season. At that time I was working to transfer the team over to 7jack11. I also told the players and they all wanted out if I or Jack was not running the team, so I took the actions on what I felt was right by the players. I could have gutted the team at the trading deadline if that was my purpose. I tell him just take out a loan to get players and pay it back once you get the fat season ticket sales after we made the playoffs again.

I'll really be starting with closer to 400K by the time the season starts as I'm still paying the salary on all the contracts on all the players who aren't coming back. Hopefully people are willing to sign without too much signing bonus as 20 players at 20K will just about finish us up. Nobody want's a bunch of level 4's in a division this skilled so we're going to do what we can to field a good team.

I'm just in this to start building a team from scratch in a highly developed division and looking forward to those challenges.

I told you what you can do. Now you can take my advised or just ignore it, I really don't care. I will promise you if you keep the tickets sales around the same level, maybe a slight increase you will bank 3 million plus in season tickets right before the season, then you can give players bigger bonuses.

Not too often you can get a team that already has stadium constructed with guaranteed income. We started form scratch in this division on Day 0. No players. No stadium. $500K. We added a bunch of lvl 1 to lvl 4s to start the season and ended up winning it all. Now you cna't do that this season, but you're still going to be ahead of where we were. Good luck recruiting though. Gonna be tough but some people just want to start, regardless of how bad teh team is. Others want to play for a good team--even if it involves a time-share or even a backup role.

If anyone leaving your team want to play with us, we have about 6 positions we will be looking at. The sharing of info on our forum and the willingness to be open to advice as well as give it and be team-players has been our recipe for success.

Thanks for all the advice. Hopefully we can be a fun team to play against sooner rather than later.

And what did you do to "earn" your team and money? Spend $10 on a virtual game to "own" a team?

Dude, he built a class team out of nothing, from the ground up, and in the beginning of season 2 when the state of recruiting was even worse then it is now, before the D Leagues came into existence, before the FA forum was restructured, and before the addition of the marketplace. He built up the stadium, earned playoff games, earned the cash. Let's not forget the countless hours of recruiting it took to build such a nice squad, convincing guys to take back-up roles, oh and all the scouting and usually successful gameplanning game to game, that takes hours of work man, hours put in by him and his agents. He did much more than simply spend a little bit of cash on a videogame. To run a successful and competitive squad takes a TON of work, and even more work to be a competiting team in this league for the last two seasons--competition was much stiffer in seasons 2 and 3 then it is now, trust me.

I'll let this go because I can see you're not a team owner.
