Dublin Drunken Monkeys at Transylvania Bloodsuckers
From a personal viewpoint I have to look at this as one hell of a matchup. The measuring stick I have to go by is that one team lost to us by 2. The other beat us by 3 in OT. So both teams showed their stuff to me firsthand on the field. Definitely the two teams I was most afraid of come playoff time. Glad they both ended on that side of the field. Haha.
But in reality when you look at the result when the two teams faced head-to-head, it's damn hard to ignore the result. 44-6 in favor of the 'Suckers. No offense to the D-Monk's, but that is a bit of an ass-beating. The Monkeys have played a lot of close games. And won a lot of close games. But to be completely honest, I don't foresee them avenging their midseason loss in the postseason.
Transylvania wins this one. 14ish margin.
Amsterdam Arctic Blast at South Yorkshire Stars
This is another example of a midseason matchup resulting in a bit of a blowout. And whereas I did pick AAB to get the round 1 upset, I can't say I see it happening here. Not at all speaking as a SoYo player, but just as a spectator... I can't find myself picking against a team who won so convincingly head-to-head previously.... regardless of the timing. This game should be much closer than the first meeting between the two, but I don't think it's going to be a one-possession game, either.
