Aside from the general Season 3 thread, and Ballbright's predictions, there was no definitive place to discuss the playoffs.

Well here it is.

... with five of the eight games simmed, every single game has resulted in the lower seed advancing. Wow.

5 over 4 (Strike over Pride)
6 over 3 (Flying Monkeys over Bearcats)
7 over 2 (Invaders over Turtles)
7 over 2 (Canes over Cans)
5 over 4 (Incinerators over Auha)

3 games left to play...

... and the last three games had more conventional endings.

1 over 8 (Mustangs over Bandits)
1 over 8 (Caninites over TTFKA Outlaws)
3 over 6 (Titans over Gods).

Round 1 is over. Thoughts? All those upsets? Gods out early for a change? Strike silently defending their title?

Late season boosting messed up my predictions a bit...but I see the two upset predictions most people had a problem with were indeed upsets (E.C./Newcastle and FFLivewire/The U)

I can guarantee you no one on the Bearcats had a problem with your prediction. We knew it would be close so good game EC. I am, however, irritated at the damn sim not doing what i tell it to.

This Prediction:

7 over 2 (Invaders over Turtles)

With 95% confidence on the Turtles was ridiculous, and the result showed it I also felt it was ridiculous that New England was favored when Strike beat them 4 days ago, and that was also proven as such

A 4 point win shows it?

It's just math, no need to get huffy about it....

Yes, a 4 point win implies a close matchup, ie: low confidence that either team would pull out the win.

Alpha Conference has been so close all season, that I don't see it conceivable that anyone could have stood by a prediction that they were 95% confident of any result outside possibly the 1 v 8, hence my original comment in the other thread

Exactly! In all seriousness it didn't even follow my gameplan remotely close. Not that it matters, with teams this close its a crap shoot.
