I know there were crossovers at the end of the year, but they were random. The ones that match teams close to each other in the standings are a much more accurate assessment.

i will be the first to admit that i think top to bottom the Alpha conference is stronger...hell i kinda thought you guys would beat us worse that 9 - 7 in the head to heads at the end of the season, but i am curious how you came to your assessment of a 7 - 1 score for the alpha conference...if it is simply scores in the games all that proves is there is more parity in our league than yours for our top 8 teams...either that or our defenses are better

the problem with scrimmages is that many teams will be trying different tactics and different lineups to see what is more effective. scrimmages are also an opportunity to try things you were afraid to do in the regular season.

I understand what you're saying drunkenmonkee, but the magnitude of many of the wins indicates there is some significant difference.
Alpha went 8-4 today, and our 0-16 team picked up their second scrimmage victory.

I agree with different tactics...I mean just look at our #6 seed Oslo, their tactic was to start the back-ups...and they faced Zeta #6 Turin...and their tactic was to play their starters...
Oslo won...tactics are different...
And yet Alpha is still superior.

Exactly.

We changed a bunch of stuff to see how it would work out and still almost won. I could care less about a scrimmage game. It still was a great game though. I do question the AI going for a pass with 9 seconds left while in FG range. Oh well....

lol...well, if it makes you hard winning some scrimmage games, more power to you. but to think that scrimmages are an accurate predicter of which conference is better, then you are just plain wrong. they mean nothing. one of my teams last year went 15-1, lost early in the playoffs and lost all their scrimmage game after that. and this year, we are the #1 team in the league again. some players want to train on intense during the whole off-season and rather not play in games so they don't have full energy, some teams want to try wacky tactics to see if it works. it's like preseason...go check the pre-season record of all the top teams in the NFl and you will see a similar trend...pre-season means nothing and is not a predicter of which teams will be successful during the regular season.
