1. (1) Montreal Maniacs (7-0) - Montreal still gets the nod @ # 1, but that lead has shrunk dramatically over the last 2 weeks. They still own the #1 ranked O and D. Their dangerous passing attack (#1) led by up and coming conference MVP candidate McMan, balances out this O. No challenge this week as the Experiments visit from the east to finish the season.
2. (2) Yukon Silent Pwners (7-0) – Dynamic Machine has made a push for league MVP these last couple of weeks. “Frankenstein” and The Machine (#1 Rush O) have beaten up the strongest Run D’s. Despite playing a challenging schedule, Yukon may play their toughest opponent to date this week when they head to Prince George. A win against the King’s should make the Pwners the team to beat in the East.
3. (4) Manitoba Wild Boars (6-1) – With the #2 ranked pass O and #1 ranked pass D, the only bump in the road has been the undefeated Pwners. The Boars beat a very good Maelstrm team, and should handle Bort’s Wrath. They will be a tough team in the playoffs with the third ranked O and 2nd ranked D.
4. (3) Alert Sentinels (6-1) – In losing to Yukon, Alert showed they can have difficulties on the ground, rushing the ball and stopping it. Alert will try to prove it was an aberration as they take on the undefeated Rockstars @ home. M.P. Hayes and Co will have to bring it this week or they may lose home field advantage in the first round.
5. (5) Cambridge Thundercats (5-2) – The once mighty rushing attack has yielded to Nightmare and the Passing O, tho both are still strong (#5 ranked O). They shut down a good Way Offense and look to do the same against a dangerous Monoa team on the Samoans home field. This game will be far more challenging than their record.
6. (6) Norfolk’s Way (4-3) – A victory this week will secure a playoff spot, but their offense will have to play to its potential (#6). Their #4 ranked rush D will also need to flex their muscle when the Bruisers from the West come to visit this week.
7. (7) Lake Michigan Maelstrom (4-3) – With the Yetis heading into Lake Michigan, the Maelstrom faces the real possibility of missing the playoffs. Teams are not afraid of this league worst passing game, and this has made their running game less effective. Still they are difficult to pass against (#2), but must hold their opponents to fewer yards on the ground.
8. (8) Sactown Rage (4-3) – Sactown gets an easy opponent this week, as opposed to the Maniacs last week. Winnipeg should not pose to much of a challenge, and a win would secure a playoff spot for the Rage. But their Offense and Defense (#9 O & #8 D) will need to improve if they want to make some noise in the postseason.
9. (10) Toronto Shenaniganz (3-4) – Still in the playoff hunt, but will need to get a win against Nike this week.
10. (9) Petersborough Goons (3-4): Must beat Alberta to have a chance at making the playoffs.
11. (11) Niagara Parrots (2-5)
12. (12) Albaany Mohicans (2-5)
13. (14) Boston Knights (2-5)
14. (13) Cardiff Cougars (1-6)
15. (15) London Roosters (0-7)
16. (16) Saguenay Heat (0-7)
