Here's my side of the predictions, I have to start off by saying that overall that i think Zeta is the stronger conference top to bottom. Top 5 though is much closer and i have to say besides the Stingers killing us all, the games beyond that would be too close to call. Without further ado, here's the predictions. Enjoy/Rant. I'm sorry that I don't know the Alpha teams as well as the Zeta's so there might be a slight bias during my predictions.

Berlin Devine Right (A10) vs Brisbane Troyfins (Z9)
Brisbane seemed to get a late start this season and have struggled a times but overall they're a solid squad led by their QB Rick Dee. They still have an outside shot at the #8 spot in Zeta, so he'll be playing with that added pressure. BDR has a decent QB themselves in Joey Welch but he'll have to control the ball and not turn it over. Don't run up the middle into Impermeable Force DT (BT), trust me i've tried.

Brisbane wins by 10

Nottingham Hoods (A11) vs Newcastle Mountain Lions (Z5)
The Lions are hungry, having secured the 5 seed no matter what happens this game, they're going to play with their prey. Hoods, good luck and godspeed, the man upstairs will be waiting for you, so i hope you've been good boys.

Lions by 21

Wellington Assasins (A16) vs Redcliffe Sharks (Z11)
Sharks get a free meal after a tough ride in their first season. It's not going to be pretty in any way.
RS by 30

FLA (A4) vs Tasmanian Swarm (Z6)
The Swarm have played tough all season long against the fierce Zeta competition but now they run into a surging Llama pack. Fine Lady QB (FLA) is going to dazzle them with her beauty and finesse. If the swarm can keep her under wraps then this is a game they can win with perserverance and patience. They're a very solid team that makes their own breaks.

llamas by 10

German Wilddogs (A12) vs Devonport Devils (Z7)
Alpha people must have gotten lost on their way to Oceania. The Wilddogs run into the grinder that is Devonport. The Devils play extremely tough and if they hadn't started late might have challenged for a top 4 spot.
Even dogs die, Devils send them to hell by 17

Jamaican Souljahs (A9) vs Rockhampton Raiders(Z8)
Another Alpha that got lost on the way to Oceania run into the stout defense of the Raiders. Jamaica is playing for pride, the Raiders for the last Zeta playoff spot. The pressure is on Raiders QB Jerry Dorsey to deliver.
Barely, Raiders by 3

Hawthorn Headhunters (A1) vs Hamilton Falcons (Z12)
I'm sorry Hamilton, it won't even be close.

Hawthorn by 42

Lincoln Breeze (A8)vs WSP (Z10)
WSP needs to win this game and for the Raiders and Brisbane to lose. I think none of those are going to happen. Bad day to be a shaved pussycat.
Breeze by 6

Southcoast Condors (A5) vs ASRW (Z3)
Both are dangerous teams with positioning in mind. I like the boys of ASRW and know how tough they are over their entire roster, Condors look strong but i don't know how they play.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=5XhNeKkJ3zk
ASRW by 7 just because.

Sandersville Warchickens (A6) vs Perth Pirates (Z14)
Pirates are building for next season, this game will make them wish it was already here.

Pecked to death by 24

Solomon Islands Pack (A14) vs Noumea Mantas (Z15)
SIP finally gets someone to pick on
Mantas slapped around by 21

Saipan Storm (A13) vs Dharma Initiative (Z13)
a good contest entirely for bragging rights. I give the edge to Dharma because i've seen them firsthand and they have the ability to play with tough.
The Initiative weather the Storm by 10

Suva Hawks (A2) vs Lexington Armada (Z16)
It's been a long road for the Armada and they're ready for drydock. One more whipping before they scrape the barnacles.
Hawks by 100

Redcliffe Razamatazz (A15) vs Fiji Stingers (Z1)
Stingers dominate start to finish.
Stingers by 100+

Guadalcanal Gunners (Z2) vs South Sydney Rabbitohs (A7) We know they're going to pass it like there's no tomorrow. We've set our defensive perimeter and are ready to counter attack. Cheers!http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8b/M119A1-howitzer-firing-exercise.jpg
GG by 17

and finally the game of the week
Sacred Haven Knights (A3) vs Fiji Flying Foxes (Z4)
The Foxes are reeling after an upset loss to the Gunners but don't let that or the ranking fool you, these are some mean and now pissed off Foxes. The Knights are solid and consistent and should challenge the foxes every move. Both rosters are all star caliber and this should be an instant classic. It's going to come down to the details in this one, as one mistake will either make or break you.
Foxes capitalize, win by 7

No offense to the Condors, but I'm expecting ASRW to win by at least 40 or 50.

Same with the Rabbits, I'd guestimate the Gunners to win by about 35 or 40. Although, I will add that I am cheering for the Rabbits and an apparent fellow Wolverine, I just know it isn't likely.

Perhaps, I'm overestimating the talent in Zeta, but I don't think Alpha's 5-8 seeds can compete with Zeta's 1-4 seeds. Not in any way, shape or form.

I'd also disagree with the Foxes winning. I believe that Sacred Haven has one of the top defense in Alpha and Zeta, not to mention the top DE. If I were to bet, I'd put my money on the Knights.

Here I am to give my side of the predictions. Over half of them are obvious picks, and so can't really predict the strength of the conferences. I have my games organized by blowouts, the games that I think will show who the stronger conference OVERALL is, and other games. Remember that it's overall, and I am not going into who has the best team(s)- the playoffs will show that.

Blowouts:
Suva Hawks (A2) vs Lexington Armada (Z16)
The Armada sank, and the Hawks contribute in a dirty way by bomb-diving and leaving Hawk droppings on them- Hawks by 116

Redcliffe Razamanaz (A15) vs Fiji Stingers (Z1)
The Razamanaz are extremely allergic to jellyfish poison, and the first sting kills them, leaving them to be run over the whole game- Stingers by 105

Wellington Assasins (A16) vs Redcliffe Sharks (Z11)
The Sharks are circling the Assassins, who are drowning without a life saver- Redcliffe by 56

GERMAN WILDDOGS (A12) vs Devonport Devils (Z7)
Devonport is laying the smackdown, plain and simple- by 42

Hawthorn Headhunters (A1) vs Hamilton Falcons (Z12)
I don't think it will as much of a blowout as jb thinks it will be, but I do think my team will win and be the #1 seed- Hawthorn by 34

Games that can determine what conference is better:
Berlin Devine Right (A10) vs Brisbane Troyfins (Z9)
Berlin looked poised at the start, but was disappointing this season. Brisbane still has a chance for the playoffs, and are winning to give themselves a chance- Brisbane by 7

Future Llamas of America (A4) vs Tasmanian Swarm (Z6)
The Llamas were able to beat my team, and that counts for something. Talent is equal, but I think strategy goes to the Llamas, and as long as they don't give it away, they should win- Llamas by 1

Solomon Islands Pack (A14) vs Noumea Mantas (Z15)
The Pack, who have a decent team and ok gameplanning, faces the Mantas, who aren't well run- Solomon by 14

Jamaican Souljahs (A9) vs Rockhampton Raiders(Z8)
Rockhampton can pass, and the Souljahs won't be able to stop it. Rockhampton by 12.

Lincoln Breeze (A8)vs Wollongong Shaved Pussycats (Z10)
The Pussycats will catch a cold from this Breeze, who will make the playoffs regardless. Still, the Breeze has a better team, and will show it- Breeze by 17

Sunshine Coast Condors (A5) vs Alice Springs Rock Wallabies (Z3)
AS has been on a tear most of the year, whereas Sunshine has been good but not GRRRREAT!- Rock Wallabies by 14

Saipan Storm (A13) vs Dharma Initiative (Z13)
While DHARMA may be able to play tough, Saipan can create a hurricane that I don't think the group can handle. This game will be won or lost on the ground game, and I choose ground and pound- Saipan by 7

Other games:
Guadalcanal Gunners (Z2) vs South Sydney Rabbitohs (A7)
South Sydney has been up and down, and GG knows how to gameplan. Still, the middle is no man's land, and I think it will stay close. I can't pick against jb though- Gunners by 15

Nottingham Hoods (A11) vs Newcastle Mountain Lions (Z5)
Interesting matchup. I respect the Lions' record, and this is why I pick them- Newcastle by 21

Sandersville WarChickens (A6) vs Perth Pirates (Z14)
The WarChickens started off weakly, but have gained momentum and talent. Perth has recently gained some talent, but it isn't enough- Sandersville by 20

GAME OF THE WEEK:
Sacred Haven Knights (A3) vs Fiji Flying Foxes (Z4)
Sacred Haven played it very close to both Hawthorn and Suva, while Fiji came off of an upset to johnbarber and his Gunners. Sacred Haven has a potent passing attack, and they have a great kicker who can convert long FGs as well as a standout DE. I think that Sacred Haven is very slightly better, but gets the short end of the stick a third time- Fiji by 3.

Thy only have 2 more wins than us, do you really think there is that much of a difference between Alpha & Zeta? Other than the game today, againt your team, the SCC hasn't lost by more than 12 points.

I certainly don't see this as a "gimme". I plan for the Alice to win, but wouldn't be surprised at all to come up short against you guys.

Good luck to you, and we'll see tomorrow!!

hmmm.

Good to see. Good to see.

If I can get the Berlin owner to actually play, we will win against the Troyfins.

After yesterdays loss I am done being PC Po.

CoachB05, you kidder ... I see what you're doing. You're picking Fiji so we'll be extra motivated to defeat them.

Nice writeup.
Heres to hoping the Gunners lose so we can take them out of the playoffs.
