Our team played hard, stayed tough, avoid costly mistakes and we gameplanned hard...and upset the #1 ranked South African Hitmen tonight 26-23.

Joey Kane was 11/20 throwing for 2 touchdowns hitting Kris Krocker and Lockheed Blackbird on both. Cocky Spur stayed consistent kicking 4 of 5 FGs, making him 23 for 26 on the year.

Our team has been strange this year...on the verge of something special each game and kept most games respectable- 7 point loss to the Kings, 6 point loss to Tyrants, 7 point loss to Ballers, and 11 points to Vampires...then it all came together tonight.

Great game Hitmen, I know ya'll will still be hell in the playoffs!

I saw that game as well...but it looked like E'Ci had been blown out a few times and shut out MANY times. Nonetheless, record-wise the matchup was about the same.

haha i just realized i was totally backwards...them being blown out and shut out through the season more WOULD make that game a bigger upset- haha.

it's definetly not a big a deal as the Desert Hawks beating the Hitmen but i thought that the Vampires beating the Cheetahs was worth mentioning on an upset thread.

The way I see it, Cairo was the Patriots team that everybody loved to hate.
We were the Giants team that nobody thought had a rats pube chance to win.

I'll share a secret. We didn't expect to win. We didn't gameplan, I don't think we even had a gamethread going into that one. Our goal in that game was to get our bench some play time. That definitely has to be the upset of the season.

On a related note. Yes, we were blown out of some games, and yes we did have trouble getting out of the gate this season. I think we've shown the potential that this team has, not only in being defeated by Cairo but holding the NEThawks to an 0-7 game. We did find our stride later in the season, and advise that you do not expect the same performance from us next season.
