Welcome to the programme - we are joined today by davidte80 on ESPN Sportcentre where we will be discussing the African AA 1 Lion Conference as part of our late season report schedule - going into the Playoffs. david welcome to the show - what are your impressions of the new league as a whole?
"The league has been very successful in general - there are a good lot of people of the forums and there are a few users who use their time to write predictions and analysis for the benefit of everyone. Alot of people will read alot but rarely post and I always think these guys are underated. In terms of the football there has been a kinda split from the beginning of the season - where some of the teams to sign players early dominated the league - but I think it has become alot more competitve with teams like the Sharks and the Headhunters distiguishing themselves from the rest of the group."
With that in mind where do you see the teams at the top ending up?
"I think the battle at the top is great - it is competitive and going into the last game there is all to play for. I think the Nightmares have been a little lucky on occassion but their consistnecy is unrivaled and they keep winning so they are doing something right. I think they are the team to beat but any one of the Marvins, Bandits or Impalas can take them on the day so we will see.
For the other P/O spots I think we are looking at straight fight with the Sharks agains the Headhunters - I have to side with the Sharks - their D is strong as the Impalas experienced today - even the sim did deviate from our GP!"
So who do you think will take it all?
"Tough one - obviously I would like to say the Impalas - but look to have a really tough run in after that loss to Beltway. it is goingt to be tough to beat the Nightmares - but as I say - on the day it can go either way."
Lion V Elephant - whos got the edge?
"I think they are both good leagues - at the top they are similar - maybe the elephants are slight underdogs - bt they are pretty even imo"
