the best thing about this game, for me, is interaction between the different players and now the different teams. Expressing ones pride and affection for his team is an integral part of football. So with that in mind, I will start the following thread in order for us to express ourselves in an environment that's less constricting. Anyone is welcome to bring their smack in here and have at it.
Since I seem to have fanned these flames a little more than SOME folks would like i will start by saying......GOOD, LETS GET IT ON.
HERE'S MY FIRST BLAST......
You know I have noticed in other threads, that shall remain nameless, when people lose a game they never seem to think they should have lost (I'm no exception to this, but unlike some people i don't do the following)....they never give credit when its due. so along those lines i will say this; SOMETIMES THE OTHER TEAM IS JUST BETTER THAN YOU...simply saying you lost because "my team played bad", doesnt make it so...the fact that you lose is seldom because your team played poorly (34-16).....mostly its because the other team made you play poorly (27-20)......And if a team plans effectively and you didnt the credit goes to the other team (20-10).....there's no shame in losing a well fought contest......unless you are an ungracious douche......then there's plenty.

Unlike some, I welcome your reactions and if you think this post is about you, trust me it is......so lets get it going. You don't have to go hunting high and low for me I'm right here.

It makes me feel like shit, I had a good feeling about it and I thought we would beat Berlin. But evidently their better then us RIGHT NOW. We will see them in the playoffs very soon.

I agree Storm, sometimes teams are just better. Sure sometimes the dice don't roll your way, but if you lose it isn't because your better than the other team. It's because they were better than you on that occasion. So if your not giving respect to a team that beat you, your a sore loser. I know with my team I respect all the teams that beat me, even the ones I felt I should have won (damn you Turin Colonels and your last minute FG!) I had the disadvantage of not owning my team until after the second game, so I didn't have the 5 days of offseason that everyone else had, when the market was wide open. Instead I got leftovers and early releases from the offseason. I didn't get my roster filled out until after game 7. But since then, I've won 6 games and lost 1. I didn't complain about losing before then (all losses), I just told everyone I'm going to make a winning franchise. Now I have upper level teams saying they don't want to play us (we're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs I think now). My point still stands though, you need to show respect to the teams that beat you, even if it means swallowing your pride.

Now that I think about it, Stormy, this thread probably belongs in the smack forum.

Thanks for the props,player builds are starting to show a bit now IMO,We are far from the cream right now.We still have our areas to strengthen up.But the glb for dummies is helping alot,lol. Cheap shots.......no.....i never say anything that isn't at least half true.....besides we haven't played you yet.....however you guys seem to be the most worthy adversary....you guys will be an interesting and informative matchup whatever the outcome......
now that all the niceties are out of the way, your teams head hanging on our trophy wall would be spectacular.....not likely but something to aspire to nonetheless....we'll have to do the best we can do.

Gotta say I'm real real glad that we won't be seeing Cork in the playoffs. Mostly because I hated playing them. It was only the fact that we've got a lot more weapons and levels that we even kept it close. Given a fair fight we'd have been abused even worse.

Still we've been handing out beats to lots of other teams this season which is a marked step up from last time where we were middle tier. We just gave Sweden their worst loss of the season for instance and I'm amazed that Limerick are still on track to qualify just about after we put a sickening 82 on them in week 1 in a game where absolutely everything went our way including last second INT TDs.

There's a chance we get IKK Fu in the playoffs and I reckon they're playing sleeper after they saw what happened to them against Glasgow in Season 2 when they dominated the regular season and burned early in the post.

Also Frankfurt's OC needs to be taken down a few pegs. Just because he's running the most dominating offense in the league and has the top thrower and 2nd rusher doesn't mean he shouldn't get stick...just can't think of any right now.

I don't know that we (Rome) have a rivalry yet, as we have only just begun to have some success after a terrible first year. HOWEVER, I would be open to offers of acquiring an evil adversary. Our team owner seems to think that the Paladins are our natural enemies since they hail from right inside our own city walls.
If they are agreeable to this, I would like to open the salvo with a hardy "U SUK!" Of course I mean this in a friendly, you guys are gay sorta way....

Yeah, I'm a little confused, myself.

Dublin seemed a natural rivalry adversary for Kilkenny, but we've got THREE to choose from!

We're nothing more than a higher end, middle of the road team. We can challenge everyone except Frankfurt. They got it in the bag, IMO.
