Time for the real predictions for the Elephant Conference.
GOTW 1*Ghana Rhea Infection (13-0) vs. African Killer Bees (10-3)
Bees did their job last game against the Jinx really dominated the game. They have a brutal final 3 games with GRI, the Extreme and the Starvin Marvins. They really have their work cut out for them. The Infection tossed the Lions aside just like they should have. The Infection just have too much balance for the Bees.
Infection 23 Killer Bees 10
Morocco Camels (11-2) vs. Casablanca White Houses (2-11)
The Camels loss to the Tractor last week was not shocking but the offensive gameplan was very quick to abandon the run and they were really never in the game. The Tractor outclassed what was fast becoming a favorite to win the Elephant conference. This week, however, brings no such challenge. The White Houses needed only to beat a lowly Malice team to stave off relegation. 4 picks later, they have to pull a big upset in the final weeks. They should be a decent team in AA.
Camels 41 White Houses 3
GOTW 2*Russian Tractor (11-2) vs. Eaton Beavers (10-3)
I have to say that we haven't faced a team of this caliber since the Xtreme back in week 5. After their impressive win last game against the Camels, the league has taken notice. Despite two double digit losses early in the season, this is a championship-like team. I'm not sure we can do much more than keep it close and hope for a big play. I've been following the Tractor closely for their past 3 games looking forward to this matchup and I think I've done my best to prepare for them. I completely expect their defense to give us trouble, but I think we have a fighting chance with a couple big plays. Good luck Tractor, hope we can make this a great game.
Los Angeles Xtreme (11-2) vs. Mozambique Lions (6-7)
I know I sound like a broken record but does anyone remember when the Lions were 5-0? I'm not sure they do. They will most likely not make the playoffs looking at two almost certain losses with the Xtreme and the Heat. The Death might even give them a lot of trouble. LAX did give up 13 points to the Drifters (granted the 7 was on a fumble on a punt) and must not get complacent against this team.
Xtreme 30 Lions 3
GOTW 3*San Dimas Saints (8-5) vs. River Styx Jinx (6-7)
Jinx were unimpressive against the Bees last game. The Saints gave us one hell of a run, stopping 3 yards short of tieing the game as time expired. Both teams seem well managed with good builds. I suspect both are relatively happy with their progress this season as both were in the bottom half of the league's power rankings at season's start and both are now sitting in playoff spots. The Saints have really planned well and will control this game.
Saints 23 Jinx 10
Congo Death (5-8) vs. High Plains Drifters (3-10)
The Death can find themselves stumbling into a playoff spot with a win this week and next. That would give them the tiebreaker over both the Jinx and the Lions. The Drifters continue to puzzle as they underperform against poor teams and stick around occasionally. They seem to be absolutely lost when it comes to game planning. The Death can't exactly be patting themselves on the back though their chemistry is back up to 34 (woo!). First team to 20 wins.
Death 24 Drifters 13
New Jersey Blazes (4-9) vs. Swaziland southern brown mambas (0-13)
Blazes look ahead to a outside prayer at the 8th playoff spot. With the tiebreak over the Death and the Jinx, they have a chance at it if the Lions lose out and they win out.
Blazes 88 Mambas 7 (1st TD coming?)
Mogadishu Malice (2-11) vs. Chicago Wheelhouse (2-11)
Winner escapes relegation and still suck. Loser will still possibly escape relegation and come back next season to face relegation again. Malice pulled out a big win last game and the Wheelhouse's season (and chemistry) has gone to shit. Ranked 7th in KellerFox's pre-season rankings, they should be embarrassed by their performance this season.
Malice 14 Wheelhouse 13
