The Hulkster passed away today. Anyone who watched wrestling back in the 90's etc remembers him. I first saw him on Rocky III back in the early 80's and thought he was a beast. Then about 8 years later, watching him with Vince McMahon, "Mean Gene" Okerlund, and Jesse "The Body" Ventura calling the action.

So many great personalities in those days, from The Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, Andre The Giant, Ravishing Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, Million Dollar Man, and so many others; To managers like Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Miss Elizabeth, and Brother Love to name a few.

It was sports entertainment. We all knew it was scripted, but there was some brutality, fun, and athleticism, all in a sort of 'sports play' type of format

RIP Terry "Hulk Hogan" Bollea

I was a big wrestling fan back in the day and considered Hulk a "meh" character compared to some of the ones I grew up watching--Rick Flair, The Von Erichs, The Masked Superstar, and Sting. "Meh"...until he was revealed as the THIRD member of the NWO. That was a game changer. I always respected what he had done, but when he took THAT turn, I realized he was more than a 1-trick pony. RIP Hulk.

Never heard of the masked superstar, don't think I was watching back then but I think they had a more famous character as member of Demolition.

When your day comes, I pray your fam & friends have the decency to focus on positive vs. negative aspects of your life.

Agreed, but I'm not his family. When you're a public figure, you are judged by what you have done and said.
