This is a bit dated, but would have you in pretty good shape if you followed the advice here.

The good news is that in a few days you should have a home playoff game which will generate concessions income that should help sustain you until the end of the season (or close).

Or you could take out a loan…first payment wouldn’t be due for 10 days.

Did you buy extra seats or have some stadium construction pending?

Already a couple of seasons behind on the Stadium. You need to upgrade your stadium each off season.

Looking a little closer, you’re in a really tough spot here…you haven’t managed this well at all. Did you buy pre-season promotions? If you opted for those expensive promotions instead of stadium construction, you’re in a hole that will be really difficult to dig out of, because now you’re in a situation where you don’t even have the finances to purchase the stadium construction that you need to keep up with the cost of your dot salaries and such. I also get the impression that you weren’t maximizing your ticket sales margins, and have probably been way undercharging there, and for concessions as well.

There’s no nerf that I know of. It’s just poor financial management by the looks of it. You needed to be purchasing stadium construction / seats starting in rookie, and keeping up with the correct price points for tix/concessions along the way to ensure you’re generating enough revenue to keep up. Unless you already purchased a lot of stadium construction and are in a pinch because of that, I don’t think I’m smart enough to give you sound enough advice for you to crawl out of this hole. IF you did, in fact, blow all your money on early construction, then your situation is salvageable when the off-season ticket sales process; provided you set your price points correctly. If you’re in this hole from merely over spending on promotions without the stadium and tix sales to cover it….that’s no bueno.

Yeah, finances aren't nerfed. Your stadium is. Maybe you bought the team at a bad time or something.

When you buy the team, the ideal window is approximately day 40.

You order the 100 corners first thing. If you want to speed things up, you can take a loan and order an endzone.

Those get constructed at roll over, around day 45 or so. That's how your rookie season starts.

You're in prep, so you'd normally have a second round of construction done. As in all of the 100 level sections, and probably the 200 sidelines at least, Maybe more with some home playoff games

I don't know if you can dig yourself out at this point. You may have to reset the team. If you're in the negative, you'll be promoting with only 2 sections. You'll be in worse shape.

Could just sell the team and buy a new one at the age of dots.

Probably the easiest solution, it just costs flex.

First buy a new team. Get all the dots moved around. Then sell this one. You'll get some kind of partial refund.
